A Wausau catering company will offer free meals on four separate dates in the coming weeks to help families that rely on school nutritional services bridge the gap during the upcoming mandated school closures.

Urban Street Bistro made the announcement on the company’s Facebook page.

Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

  • Thursday, March 19: G.D. Jones Elementary, 1018 S. 12th Ave., Wausau
  • Tuesday, March 24: Stettin Elementary, 109 N. 56th Ave., Wausau
  • Tuesday, March 31: Riverview Elementary, 4303 Troy St., Wausau
  • Friday, April 3: Franklin Elementary, 1509 N. Fifth St., Wausau

Patrons should look for the Urban Street Bistro orange food truck parked near each school on the specified dates.

“It’s just a small gesture to help our community stay strong and healthy, moving forward together,” the company’s Facebook post reads. “We encourage anyone In need to stop by. Please tell your neighbors if you think a warm meal would be a benefit to them.”
