The Woodson YMCA on Sunday announced precautionary steps the organization is taking to keep members and staff safe during the current COVID-19 health crisis.

In a news release published on the organization’s website, Woodson YMCA CEO Bryan Bailey said the organization is immediately suspending all youth and adult programming until April 5 including swim lessons, swim team, gymnastics classes and teams, group exercise and sports leagues for youth and adults.

The facility will also close its doors weekdays at 8 p.m. beginning Monday, March 16 to give building maintenance staff added time for sanitizing and deep cleaning.

To protect seniors, the Landing Senior Activity Center will close altogether until April 5, the release states.

Before and after school programs and licensed childcare remain open at this time.
