WAUSAU — The Wisconsin Woodchucks announced today two new additions to its 2020 roster. Ben Rozenblum and Alejandro Torres will join the Woodchucks this summer from Florida International University.

Ben Rozenblum

Rozenblum is a freshman originally from Coral Springs, Florida, according to the Woodchucks. This catcher and infielder posted a .306 batting average with eight RBI, three doubles, and four home runs in 14 games this season. As a high school senior in 2019, he batted .438 with seven home runs and 27 RBUs. He was ranked the fifth best catcher out of high school in the state of Florida.

Alejandro Torres

Torres is a freshman originally from Miami, Florida, the Woodchucks said. He is a right-handed pitcher who pitched seven innings for the FIU Panthers, recording a 1-0 record, two saves, 10 strikeouts, and a 0.00 ERA. As a senior in high school, he ranked fifth in Florida as a right-handed pitcher.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks’ 2020 home opener is May 30.
