One person is dead, a second person is injured and a suspect is in custody following a stabbing Tuesday in the Marathon County town of Cleveland, police said.

Police were called at around 9 a.m. to a home off Hwy. P near Stratford for a report of two people who had been stabbed. One person died at the scene, while another person was transported to a hospital for treatment. The severity of the second victim’s injuries has not been released.

The suspect in the stabbing, who WAOW TV is identifying as Brandon D. Noll, was involved in a crash at about 9:11 a.m. in Marshfield at Hwy. A and Hwy. H, according to the Marshfield Police Department. Noll allegedly fled the scene of the crash, then stole a second vehicle from a parking lot at a Marshfield roofing company, police said.

The stolen vehicle was located in Spencer, which prompted a pursuit, police said. The pursuit ended in the 400 block of West Veterans Parkway after officers used stop sticks and a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle. Noll was taken into custody and is jailed awaiting formal charges.

Online court records show Noll, 22, lists a Spencer address and has prior felony convictions for burglary. Before living in Spencer, Noll lived at a Hwy. P address, court records show.

Police confirm the public is not in danger and say the victims knew their attacker. Their names have not been released.

This is a developing story.
