Lawrence Schueller
Lawrence John “Butch” Schueller, 76, passed away peacefully at his home on April 9, 2020, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services and his loving family.
He was born Nov. 28, 1943 in Edgar, son of the late Louis and Clara (Braun) Schueller. On Aug. 8, 1964, he married Sandra Butalla.
Graduating from Edgar High School in 1961, Butch earned his apprenticeship under Larry’s Plumbing & Heating and subsequently owned and operated Schueller Plumbing & Heating until his retirement in 2008. He proudly served the community as a Lieutenant of Edgar Fire Department and EMT.
As a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish, he belonged to the Holy Name Society, was an usher, served on the St. John School Board, and was involved in many maintenance and improvement projects for the school and church.
He enjoyed helping his children with building and home improvement projects, fishing, playing cards, watching his grandchildren participate in sports and other extra-curricular activities, watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers, listening to the Statler Brothers, bowling, canning pickles, gardening, watching westerns, and spending time at the cottage with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; his children, Brenda (Tim) Werner, Amy (Mark) Fisher, Christopher (Megan) Schueller, Diane (Patrick) Kreft, Ellen (Steven) Lueth and Francine (Kurt) Berry; grandchildren, Rhyannon Werner, Noah Werner (Lindsay Meissner), Reese (Hector) Marroquin, Nehemiah Werner, Maria Fisher (fiancé Michael Beaudry), Austin Fisher, Connor Schueller, Luke Schueller, Kira Kreft, Allison Kreft, Audrey Lueth, Lauren Lueth, Dawson Berry and Devanne Berry; eight great grandchildren; brother, Oliver (Helen) Schueller; and sisters, Dorothy Schueller, Agnes Adamski and Virginia Heidmann.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Sylvarius, Alois, Victor and George Schueller and Marie Krause; and mother- and father-in-law, Matthew and Marian Butalla.
The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Stoffel, the staff of Wausau Manor, and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for their kind and compassionate care of Butch.
A private service will be held for immediate family. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. A memorial service for friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. John the Baptist Parish and School or Edgar Fire Department.

Barbara Fletcher
Barbara Ellen Fletcher, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020, at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Barb was born on Feb. 3, 1942, in Wausau, daughter of the late Lyle and Verna (Stark) Fletcher. Barb was a 1960 graduate of Wausau High School, and was employed after graduation at Employers Mutual of Wausau. In September of 1963 she entered Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to train for employment in the airline industry. Upon graduation from Gale she moved to Chicago to accept a job with Eastern Airlines. She remained with Eastern Airlines for 28 years. When Eastern closed in 1991 she was manager of baggage service at O’Hare Airport.
Barb left the travel industry and remained in Chicago. She worked at Forest Park Currency Exchange and at Schumacher Battery. She returned to the travel industry and worked at Ryan Travel Agency until she retired in 2006.
Barb enjoyed a lot of local, national and international travel, especially get-a-ways to Florida with her relatives and many friends. She had a special love for Ireland and traveled there many times. Her last big travel adventure was a Mediterranean cruise.
Upon retirement, Barb returned to Wausau and enjoyed her time back home with her family, many cousins, high school friends and other lifelong friends. Barb had Parkinson’s disease, which slowed her down, but she still enjoyed countless activities and friendships.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Robert Fletcher (Kristine Buehler) who also resides in Wausau. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date after the coronavirus quarantine has been lifted.

Robert Bremer
Robert Bremer, 100, of Wausau peacefully passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Mt. View Care Center.
He was born on Dec. 10, 1919, in Marathon County to the late Carl and Nelly (Callahan) Bremer. Robert served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was proud to have flown on the 1996 Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., with his son, Bruce as his guardian. On Nov. 11, 1950, Robert married Gertrude Obermiller at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wausau. He worked at Underwood Mill in various capacities and later worked as assistant manager at A&P Foods until they closed. Robert finished his work career with Wausau School District in janitorial work at Wausau West High School.
He enjoyed hunting and especially fishing with his sons on Trout Lake. Robert was one of the founding members of Bill’s Musky Club. He loved to travel and go camping with his family. Robert also enjoyed ice skating and was in the Wausau Winter Frolics in the 1930s.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Wausau, son, Bruce of Wausau, three grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian and Samantha and four great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Charles and siblings, Raymond, Alice Hammers and Olive Drumm.

Edward Matz Sr.
Edward C. Matz Sr., 99, of Birnamwood, died on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at Cloverleaf Terrace, Birnamwood, with his family by his side.
He was born on July 25, 1920, in Birnamwood, the son of Frank and Alma (Giese) Matz.
Ed was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the Darling Gunderson Post No. 341 American Legion Birnamwood and served as past commander.
On June 18, 1949, Ed was united in marriage to Marion Kaufmann at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2018.
Ed owned and operated the Ed Matz Mobil in Birnamwood for many years. He also worked for the village of Birnamwood and drove school bus for a number of years. He also served on the Birnamwood Volunteer Fire Department. Ed enjoyed deer hunting and trout fishing in his younger years. He has calendars of many years where he documented the air temperature every day. He was very proud of his country and his time in the Army. It was a life-long dream of his to attend the Never Forgotten Honor Flight in 2010.
Survivors include his children, Ed (Judy) Matz Jr. of Pickerel, Hope Baken of Fond du Lac, Marilyn (Terry) Fischer of Norrie, Chad (Cindy) Matz and Mark (Judie) Matz all of Birnamwood; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Clark of Birnamwood and Lois Liethen of Wittenberg and special neighbors, Ron “Berf” and Jonelle Resch.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and siblings, Eudora Crawford, Evelyn Frederick, Mildred White and Melvin Matz.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a,m, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood.
A private funeral will be held following the visitation. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be held at St. Philomena Catholic Cemetery, town of Norrie.
A public celebration honoring Ed will be held at a later date.

Mary Seidler
Mary Lou Seidler, 81, formerly of Birnamwood, died on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Evergreen Health Services, Shawano.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1938, in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Maurice and Georgia (Finley) Huff.
She married Gerald Seidler on April 25, 1959, in Wausau. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1998.
Mary loved doing embroidery, putting puzzles together and loved her parakeet. Mary lived in Birnamwood until the death of her husband in 1998 at which time she moved to Tigerton.
Survivors include her siblings, Ronald Huff and John Huff both of Fayetteville, Arizona, Timothy (Rita) Huff of Shell Knob, Missouri, and Georgina (Monty) Fischer of Mountain Home, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Fred Barke of Green Lake, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Pam Huff of Oklahoma; three aunts, Audrey Reed of La Paz, Indiana, Nellie Martin of Plymouth, Indiana, and Irene Huff of Paw Paw, Michigan, and an uncle, Ben Finley of Walkerton, Indiana. She is also survived by her special family and caregiver for 20 years, Virginia Kauffman, Tim and Carol Couillard, Rocky and Sue Kauffman, Ricky and Brenda Kauffman, Hailey Gruenwald, Cassidy Kauffman, Randy and Rose Kauffman and Edgar, Rannell, Raymond and Renee Kauffman.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son in infancy, Darreld; siblings Maurice, Nancy Barke and Martha in infancy.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020, at Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Rev. Dean Suehring will officiate.

Sarah Ganski
Sarah J. Ganski, 44, of Bevent, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 10, 2020 at her home.
She was born in Stevens Point on June 9, 1975, to Larry and Rose (Furmanek) Kluck.
On Aug. 1, 1998, Sarah was united in marriage to Brian Ganski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent.
Sarah was an emergency room nurse at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for many years. She was very passionate about her job and helped many families throughout her career. Sarah enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATVing with her family and spending time with her fur babies. Her most precious time spent was with her family at the cottage in Mercer. She could always be found relaxing on the pontoon.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Brian; her mother, Rose Kluck of Schofield; two children, Rachael and Andrew, both of Bevent; her brother, Martin Kluck of Schofield; parents-in-law, Connie and Kathy Ganski of Shantytown; siblings-in-law, Bobby Ganski of Shantytown, Tanya (Ben) Kudronowicz of Hatley and Jimmy (Karla) Ganski of Shantytown; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family as well as her ER family at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Larry and infant brother, Steven.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church.
A private funeral service will be held on Saturday following the visitation. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date.
