WAUSAU — April 16 is Get on Board Day, a national awareness and advocacy day that is all about generating awareness of and increasing support for public transportation among riders and non-riders, decision-makers and stakeholders. It is especially important this year as drivers are essential workers and a lifeline to many during the coronavirus pandemic.
Locally, the NAOMI Transit Task Force will recognize and thank drivers and staff members of Metro Ride in the Wausau area by providing a letter of appreciation and lunch, and promising handshakes when the guidelines allow.
The NAOMI Transit Task Force will take lunch to the drivers at the Transit Center at 10:45 a.m. on April 16.
