Hunger coalition gets financial boost from Rotary groups

WAUSAU – Three Rotary groups have recently donated $3,000 to the Marathon County Hunger Coalition to feed students in rural school districts, the United Way of Marathon County said.

The Wausau Rotary and Wausau Early Birds Rotary clubs each donated $750 and Rotary District 6220 contributed a matching grant of $1,500.

The donation will pay for three weekends of food in seven rural schools outside the Wausau metro area, including Abbotsford, Colby, Athens, Marathon, Spencer, Edgar and Hatley schools.
