A revised notice filed Thursday with the Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce Development shows 187 jobs will be eliminated in Wausau as part of a reorganization plan by Foot Locker, Inc.

The layoffs are permanent and are effective July 15.

An additional 21 employees were laid off by the company in August, according to the DWD.

Mary Signorino, a media spokesperson for Foot Locker, Inc., called the initiative an effort to drive productivity.

“As such, we’ve made the strategic decision to consolidate select Eastbay operations into the Champs Sports headquarters to create better connections with our customers,” Signorino said.

The Champs headquarters is in Florida.

Positions affected range from marketing to graphic design, buyers, merchandisers and digital marketing experts. A complete listing of jobs eliminated can be found here.

All affected workers have been notified, Signorino said, in a letter to the DWD.
