WAUSAU – Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau will setup a display of five World War II veterans markers May 19 through May 21, so the public can pay their respects to the veterans for whom they represent.

The veterans are Walter Schroeder, Charles Trettin, Milton Nass, Norman Rust and Loren Brunsman.

The cemetery had planned to host the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard to present military colours in honor of the five veterans whose veteran government markers were found at the cemetery in storage in November 2019. The gathering was canceled because of COVID-19.

The markers will be setup around the flag pole on the front lawn of the cemetery. The markers will be placed on their respective burials by Memorial Day. Gatherings should be 10 people or fewer and visitors should remain 6 feet apart.
