A 62-year-old Tomahawk man was airlifted to a Wausau hospital after his ATV crashed in Lincoln County, officials said.
A 911 caller reported the crash just after 5 p.m. Saturday on Bridge Road in the town of Tomahawk.
Paramedics treated the man on scene, then transferred him to the Spirit 2 medical helicopter. He was flown to the trauma center at Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
His current condition is unclear at this time.
Police say the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Hwy. 86 at Bridge Road was closed briefly Saturday to allow the helicopter to land.
The victim’s name has not been released.
