Damon A. Frederick, 21, was convicted in 2016 of third degree sexual assault of a child. The victim in the case was swimming at the park in 2015 when Frederick, a stranger to the girl, assaulted her.

Frederick was readmitted to prison in 2018 after breaking his probation, according to Department of Corrections records.

“This notification is not intended to increase fear, rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public,” the Sheriff’s Department release states. “Sex offenders have always lived in our communities; but was not until the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry and Community Notification Law was enacted that law enforcement was able to share this information with the public.”

Frederick will live in Lincoln County and will be supervised until July 2025.

He will be required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Program while under supervision. The Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry can be located at https://doc.wi.gov
