Marlyne Yesse
Marlyne Jean Yesse, 80, passed into her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 20, surrounded by her loving family. Marlyne was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on Feb. 4, 1940, to the late Carol and Martin Graveen. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1958 and married Emanuel Yesse on Sept. 20, 1958, in Sheboygan.
Marlyne will always be remembered for much time spent with her children and grandchildren, her flare for decorating, her fashion sense, and her beloved cats. She also loved shopping, especially at TJMaxx, and enjoyed driving her Trans Am, often talking about how much she missed her car in her latter years. Along with raising their family, Marlyne and Emanuel owned various businesses, including Yellow Cab, Checker Cab Co., Washington Street Laundromat, and Yesse Heating. She also enjoyed working for the Styling Stable and Fashion Villa salons.
Marlyne is survived by her children, Rick Yesse (Brenda) of Stevens Point, Wendy Victoria (Tim Mongan) of Greenville, and Vicki Long of Wausau; her grandchildren, Cresencio Victoria, Michael Victoria, Amanda Petterson, Kristen Rizzo (Matt), Cara Stelzel (Shawn), Jace Yesse, Kyle Long, Bethany Gaddis (Marc) and Katie McClyman-Fait (Ben); great-grandchildren, Kadin, Kierce, Jackson, Brooklyn and Max; brothers Bob Graveen (Wanda), Bruce Graveen (Jill), and Tom Graveen (Elaine); sisters-in-law Rose Seidler (Dave), Virginia Pagel, and Dorothy Kittel (Jerry), and many nieces and nephews.
Marlyne was pre-deceased by her parents, Carol and Martin Graveen; her husband, Emanuel Yesse; and her daughter, Dixie Yesse.

Gloria Hawley
Gloria Jean Hawley passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at the age of 86.
Gloria was born in Ohio on Dec. 8, 1936, to John and Pauline Stiebeling. She spent her early years in Ohio where she attended Bowling Green University. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of Agriculture. While there, she met and married Neal R. Hawley, who was serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in D.C. Once discharged, they returned to Neal’s home town of Wausau. In 1964, they moved the family to Rothschild where Gloria spent the past 56 years.
Gloria was an easy-going stay-at-home mother who enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to travel. She was an avid member of her church, Mt. Calvary Lutheran in Rothschild. Later, she worked for the Teamsters and NorthCentral Technical Institute.
Gloria is survived by three of her children, Kevin Hawley (Marcel Figeroa), Kim (Ron) Feit, and Karen (John) Cook; seven grandchildren, Sean (Laura) Cook, Nicholas Cook, Kathryn Cook (KC Wheeler), Ronda Feit, Logan Feit, Rachel Feit, and Sara Feit; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Leslie Cook; and her brother, Paul (Jan) Stiebeling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; her daughter, Susan (Brian) Differt; and her grandson, Brandon Feit.
Gloria spent the last three years in the care of her “second family” at Cedar Creek Manor of whom her family is so grateful for the wonderful care she received and are sincerely thankful to them for seeing her through these past few difficult weeks.

Dorothy Schug
Dorothy Dora Schug, 105, put on her angel wings and returned to her heavenly father in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at Abbotsford Healthcare Center, Abbotsford, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was born July 19, 1914, in Bern Township, ninth child of the late Sebastian Sr. and Margaret (Gilles) Weiler. On Sept. 6, 1933, she married George Werner Schug at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens, Wisconsin. They celebrated 66 years together, prior to George’s passing on Oct. 7, 1999.
Dorothy was a dedicated farmwife and devoted mother. She loved to milk cows, raise chickens, and unload hay bales; always setting an example of the value of hard work for her family. Together, George and Dorothy farmed for nearly 40 years. Dorothy loved to garden, always sharing the bounty with family, friends, and neighbors. She was always ready for an intense game of Sheepshead, a spirited game of Trouble with the grandkids, or just guessing answers while watching game shows on television. She stayed healthy with her daily glass of wine. Her cooking and baking skills were evident in the best potato salad, banana bread, and Red Devil’s Food cake in the world.
Her Catholic faith was very important to her, as well as teaching her family the same. She attended mass and honored our Blessed Mother by praying her rosary (which was always within reach), morning and night, for as long as she could.
Dorothy loved to party. Of course, reaching 105 years of age, many of those parties were for her. She thrived on all of the love and attention that her ever growing family lavished on her, not to mention the cake and cupcakes to satisfy her sweet tooth. She was the life of the party! She had a wonderful and warm sense of humor.

Grandchildren Duwayne Gajewski, Cindy Schug and granddaughter-in-law, Tonya Schug; great grandchildren, Marissa and Tabitha Gajewski; step great grandson, Coltyn Emmerich; step great, great grandson, Dylan Woller and great grandson-in-law Sal Sinha also preceded her in death. Further preceding her in death were sisters, Anne, Helen (Rudy) Schreiner, Christine, Margaret, Rose (Melvin) Gilbertson, Theresa (Donald) Kreft and brothers Sebastian Jr., Sebastian Buddy Jr. (Anna), Charles (Sophie), Nicholas (Helen), Henry (Rachel) and Clarence.
Due to COVID- 19 restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 19, 2020, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Athens, at 11 a.m. with Rev. George Graham officiating. Mass will be live streamed on Facebook, or for later viewing at www.petersonkraemer.com. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Wuertzburg. Public visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2020, at St. Anthony’s Church. CDC guidelines must be followed.

Michael Matsick
Michael Matsick, 70, Wausau died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, after a short but courageous battle with his recent diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
He was born Jan. 15, 1950, in Phillips, Wisconsin, son of the late Thomas and Ann (Machak) Matsick. On Oct. 21, 1972, he married Kathleen Sullivan of Wausau. She survives.
Michael moved to Wausau in 1972 and started his career by driving a truck for Wausau Homes. He continued working in the Wausau area as a truck driver and most recently worked for Builder’s 1st Source. He was dedicated and driven, working right up until he was no longer physically able to.
Michael proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed riding motorcycle with his wife, fishing with his daughter and working on vehicles with his son. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. Michael was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, without ever expecting anything in return. He was the most honest and dependable person anyone could have the pleasure of encountering. Michael had a very unique wit and sense of humor that anyone around him found contagious. With his big smile and infectious laugh, he could light up even the darkest room.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Matsick, Wausau, his children, Sarah Ann Matsick, Weston, Brandon Michael Matsick, Wausau and Amy Michelle (Jason) Biesel, Wausau, his faithful doxie Penny, his siblings, Thomas (Barb) Matsick, Phillips, Ken (Margo) Matsick, New Richmond, Joe Matsick, Phillips, Maggie Obadal, Phillips, Ann Miller, Phillips, James (Marcy) Matsick, Phillips, Patty (Brad) Swanson, Washington, brothers-in-law David (Karen) Sullivan, Mosinee, and Michael Sullivan, Boulder Junction, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Matsick and his sister Barb Gastineau, as well as his wife’s parents David (Jermaine) Sullivan.
God only takes the best, and one of God’s very best was taken from us far too soon. He will be deeply and dearly missed by his family and friends. Michael left a hole in many hearts that will never be filled.
Visitation will be held at Peterson Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau on Tuesday, June 2, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Social distancing practices will be used during this time. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Father Samuel Martin will preside. Adella Schmitz
Adella M. Schmitz, 91, died Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Unity, daughter of the late Leonard and Hazel (Tibbits) Hebert. On May 21, 1955, she married Edward Schmitz in Wausau. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1994.
Adella was the third of 11 children and grew up on a farm near Unity. She worked at various office positions until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and golfing.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Randy) Carlson, Gail (Mark) Coel and Paul Schmitz; daughter-in-law, Laurie Schmitz; grandchildren, Tracey (Adrian) James, Eddie Schmitz, Phillip Carlson, Jacob Coel, Zachary Coel, Laura Schmitz, Luana Lindemann and Elli Lindemann; great-grandson, Rowdy Carlson; siblings, Vivian Podevels, Franklin Hebert, Florence Edblom, Alice Kasten, Rose Wicker and Carol Engman.
Besides her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Schmitz, and siblings, Marie Hartl, Leonard Hebert, John Hebert and Joan Jones.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2020, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Family and friends wishing to pay their respects are asked to practice social distancing and keep the state recommendation of 10 or fewer individuals present at one time in mind. Margaret Nikolai
Margaret E. Nikolai, 89, Rothschild, died Friday, March 27, 2020, at her home with family at her side.
She was born Sept. 22, 1930, in the town of Deer Creek, daughter of the late George and Martha (Kania) Cypher. On Aug. 28, 1954, she married Philip Nikolai at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 2000.
Margaret spent most her life looking after and taking care of her family. She ensured morals and ethics in all her children. Being a wife and mother, was a dedication she took on honorably and with great respect. She enjoyed family, cooking, counted cross stitch and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always there for everyone.
Survivors include five children, Gary (Betty) Nikolai, Kronenwetter, Dave (Myra) Nikolai, Marathon, Theresa King, Wausau, Philip A. Nikolai, Rothschild, Bob Nikolai, Rothschild; four grandchildren Ben (Carrie) Nikolai, Wisconsin Rapids, Chris Nikolai, Wausau, Andy Nikolai, Midland, Texas, Amanda (Eric) Bohn, Marathon; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Colton and Gavin Bohn, Tyler and Matt Aaseng.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael King; a sister, Mary Feldbruegge, four brothers, Anthony, Gilbert, Walter and Sylvester Cypher.

Leslie Wetmore
Leslie Wetmore, 93, of Wausau passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at Our House Senior Living.
Les was born May 3, 1927, in Port Edwards to the late Earl and Lola (Carlton) Wetmore. After graduating from high school, Les earned an accounting degree through Northcentral Technical College. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. After returning to Wisconsin, Les worked at Memorial Hospital in Wausau where he met his future wife, Mae Adams. They were married on April 15, 1950, in Hancock. Les and Mae farmed in Hancock while raising their two sons, Daniel and David. He drove school bus for 10 years, served on the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Board of Directors and for 38 years was the Hancock Town Clerk. Les also worked for the Waushara County Highway Department retiring after 22 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening, polka dancing and watching TV.
Survivors include his sons, Daniel (Cathy) Wetmore of Blaine, MN, Rev. David (Louise) Wetmore of Kronenwetter, five grandchildren, Daniel “Scotty” Wetmore, Lori (David) Vig, Heather (Dan) Hurlbert, Robin (Justin) Moravec, Ethan (Samantha) Wetmore and three great grandchildren, Connor and Alex Vig and Jace Hurlbert. Les was preceded in death by his wife, Mae, infant son, Donald and sister, Ruth Sours.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 12, 2020, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Reverend Steve Vaudt will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Burns Post #388. Burial will take place at a later date in Pleasant View Cemetery, Hancock. Albert Reissmann
Albert Arno Reissmann, 97, of Wausau passed away May 20, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Albert was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Wausau to the late Paul and Martha (Zemke) Reissmann.
Albert was a lifelong resident of Wausau, attending school at Irving Elementary, GD Jones, and Wausau High School. Upon finishing high school, he went into the military serving in the Army during World War II.
However, by far his bravest act was on Oct. 15, 1965, when as a 42-year-old bachelor, he married the love of his life Virginia Jorstad, a widow with four children. They raised five children together with the joyful addition of their son, Jonathan.
Albert worked as a machine operator at Marathon Millwork until its close, ultimately retiring from Kolbe & Kolbe in 1992 with his gold watch. He loved to fish and camp with family and friends. He was a very kind man, a man of great faith. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he enjoyed sharing his Bible based hope for the future with his neighbors.
Albert is survived by his wife, Virginia Reissmann; sons Jonathan Reissmann of Wausau, Russel (Bonnie) Jorstad of Edgerton, Patrick (Sheila) Jorstad of Merrill, daughters Linda (Van) Cass of Marathon, and Cindy (William) Hazelquist of Rhinelander; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Sorenson of Wausau; and a sister in law Karen Reissmann of Westland, Michigan.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, including his step mother Annabelle, his brothers Paul Jr. and Robert Reissmann, and his sister Barbara Muetzel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle”.
A virtual service over Zoom will be held May 30, 2020, at 3 p.m. Todd Green from the Rib Mountain congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will officiate.
Lois Koehler
Lois Joyce (Luedtke) Koehler, 85 of Wausau passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1935, in the Town of Texas to the late Bruno and Olga (Borth) Luedtke. On Feb. 27, 1954, she married Eugene Koehler at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Wausau. She graduated from Wausau High School and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as The Salvation Army. Lois and Eugene were charter members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wausau, where Lois was very active in many activities.
Lois enjoyed word puzzles, gardening, sewing and spending time at their cottage in Tomahawk. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Eugene; her two daughters, Barb (Rick) Krautkramer of Marathon, and Jane (Ross) Kroening of Wausau; daughter-in-law, Kathy Koehler of Wausau; two sisters, Beverly Luedtke, Shirley (Ed) Schwede, and one brother, Lloyd (Lou) Luedtke; six grandchildren, Eric (Megan) Koehler, Emily (Evan) Thomas, Scott (Renee) Krautkramer, Jason Krautkramer, Lisa (Brett Koeller) Krautkramer, and Sara (Eric) Edwardson; four great-granddaughters, Grace and Alice Edwardson, and Charlotte and Penelope Thomas; brothers-in-law, Daniel (JoAnn), August (Sandy), Bertram (Gail), and Elmer (Nancy); sisters-in-law, Joyce Woller, Margie (Charles) Schwede, and Carol Wasmundt; many godchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son David; one brother, Donald Luedtke; her sister, Doris Schwede; nephew, Jeff Luedtke; and in-laws, Mary Ann Luedtke, Elgard Woller, Gilbert and Eunice Koehler, Virgil Koehler, Tom Wasmundt, and Donald and Nancy Hussong.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Sylvan Crossings and the staff and doctors of Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Lois.
A public graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Rev. Kemp Jones of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will officiate. Glenn Oelke
Glenn Oelke is now at peace in heaven with his wife, Elaine. At the age of 89, Glenn passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020, at Colonial Manor of Wausau.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in the town of Stettin to the late Reinhart and Elsie (Zahn) Oelke. As a youngster, Glenn helped on the family farm with his sisters, Shirley and Arlene and brother, Lyndon. As he got older, he drove a milk truck, helped at Miller’s Meat Market and bartended at Smokey and Millie’s Bar, Marathon. Glenn’s family attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Stettin where Glenn met the love of his life, Elaine Buttke at Catechism class. At that very same church, Glenn married Elaine on July 12, 1950, and were together for 68 years. Glenn worked at Marmet Corporation until retiring after 41 years of service. In his free time, Glenn enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, listening to Polka Music, playing cards, especially Sheepshead and Cribbage and spending time with family and friends at Pine Lake. In their earlier years, Glenn and Elaine loved helping raise their two grandchildren, Miranda and Stetson and their five great grandchildren could do no wrong in Glenn’s eyes.
Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne (John) Young of Wausau, son, Steve (Tracey Botterud) Oelke of Wausau, two grandchildren, Miranda (Seth) Erickson of Athens, Stetson (Amanda) Oelke of Tomahawk, five great grandchildren, Hunter, Ava, Bryn, Montgomery and Octavia and in-laws, Allen (Karen) Buttke of Wausau, Marlene (Merlin) Pruss of Fond du Lac, Lou Ann (Donald) Zamzow of Weston and Bonita Buttke of Minnetonka, MN. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine, brother and sister-in-law, Lyndon and Geraldine Oelke, two sisters and brother-in-laws, Arlene and LaVern Teske and Shirley and Martin Hannemann.

Thomas Timken
Thomas Robert Timken, 87, of Eagle River died on Saturday, May 23, 2020, with his family by his side.
Thomas was born in Milwaukee on Sept. 10, 1932, to the late William and Clara (Baumle) Timken. Thomas’ father (a dentist) served in World Wars I and II, loved to travel and lived in many places with his family, including Ft. Defiance Navajo Indian Reservation. This was the foundation of Tom’s love of travel and history, which continued as he married and started his own family.
In 1950, he graduated from Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee. Tom would then go on to UW-Madison where he pursued his undergraduate degree in history. It is at UW-Madison where Tom would meet the love of his life, nursing student Evelyn Rose Rufi. Tom and Evelyn were married on Nov. 25, 1953, in Madison. Soon after being united in marriage, Tom joined the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in El Paso. While in El Paso, Tom and Evelyn would start their family with the birth of their son Thomas R. Timken Jr. After his time in the Army, he worked on finishing his undergraduate degree at UW-Madison, followed by law school and earning his Juris Doctor Degree. During this time Tom and Evelyn worked hard to support and raise their family, which was the most important thing in Tom’s life, doing all they could, which included Tom driving cab at nights while in law school. Upon completion of his degree, Tom and Evelyn moved to Wausau where Tom pursued his own practice. He was also appointed by 5 Wisconsin Governors, Patrick Lucey, Martin Schreiber, Lee Dreyfus, Anthony Earl, and Tommy Thompson to serve as an Administrative Law Judge on the Tax Appeals Commission for the State of Wisconsin. They would welcome daughter Teresa and sons Mark, Michael, and Daniel to the family. As a family of seven, they would pile into the family station wagon for their yearly vacations. Their travels would take them all over the United States. Together Tom and Evelyn would travel extensively, including special trips to Europe and Hawaii, to name a few. Throughout all his travels, he would never pass up an opportunity to take a cab and chat with the driver. After the passing of his wife, Tom retired at the age of 62. He moved to Eagle River where he could be found on the golf course or helping out as a “swamper” at his son’s restaurant. He continued to pursue his love for traveling with trips all over the country with his children, friends and sometimes by himself, including travel to one of his favorite destinations – Las Vegas (where he went well over 100 times). Tom was a Civil War history buff and avid reader who will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his compassion, and his unconditional love for his family.
Tom is survived by his children Thomas (Brenda) Timken Jr. of Conover, Teresa Timken of McFarland, Mark (Jean) Timken of Weston, Michael (Mardie) Timken of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Daniel (Barbara) Timken of Lombard, Illinois. Grandchildren include Trudy Timken, Jessica Walker, Pamela Satter, Jake Malik, Matthew and Stephanie Timken, and Samuel, Madeline, and Rachel Timken. Great grandchildren include Brittany Antezana, Brody Walker, Nicole and Thomas Satter, Courtney Malik and Gage Timken. Stepgrandchildren include Ryan Braatz, Benjamin Simmermen, Christine and Sarah Lamont. He will be sorely missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn, and brother William Timken.
A private family service will be held on June 1. Flowers can be sent to Helke Funeral home in Wausau and memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to thank the Marshfield Medical Center (Marshfield) staff who cared for him during this difficult time, especially the Palliative Care Unit. Their professionalism, compassion and support of the family during these times was absolutely incredible and deeply appreciated.
Mark Kraetsch
After battling cancer for nearly two years, Mark Gilbert Kraetsch passed away with his five sisters by his side on May 23, 2020.
He was born March 31, 1975, to Allan and Caroline (Schinke) Kraetsch in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. At a young age, Mark developed a love of hockey and participated in the sport until graduating from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1993. From 1993-1999, he attended UW-Madison where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and statistics.
Mark’s career initially led him to Chicago where he worked for Environmental Systems Design. After 10 years, he moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, and worked for Design Tree Engineering. At both companies, he worked as a mechanical engineer specializing in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Throughout his life, Mark built meaningful relationships. In November 2004, he married Renae Kirchner, though, they later divorced. As his cancer progressed, Mark greatly valued his brother-in-law Darrin Davisson, who frequently traveled to St. Cloud for medical appointments and camaraderie. In December 2019, Mark moved to Rosholt, Wisconsin, to live with family and make the most of his final months with loved ones.
Mark’s passions included playing cribbage, fishing with family, and watching the Packers, Brewers and Canucks. He treasured good friends, cherished cold beer, and appreciated horror movies.
While battling throat and esophageal cancer, Mark met amazing caregivers including Dr. Ilitch Diaz and his Thoracic Team at the University of Minnesota Hospital. The family also extends warm thanks to Kattie, Stephanie, and Chaplain Mark with Ascension at Home Hospice Services.
Survivors include his father, Allan Kraetsch, stepmother Jan (Hokenstad) Kraetsch, sisters, Monica (Darrin Davisson), Rita (Thomas Jasurda), Leisa (Joseph Higgins), Donna (Scott Kezeske), and Laura (John Schmitt), stepbrothers William Hokenstad (Lyn), and Michael Hokenstad (Stephanie Gould), and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Caroline, and his grandparents, Gilbert and Evelyn Kraetsch and Ervin and Rose Schinke.

Robert “Bob” Gervenak
Robert J. “Bob” Gervenak, 62, of Crystal Falls, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday May 19, 2020, at Aspirus Hospital Wausau in Wausau, Wisconsin. Robert “Bob” was born Dec. 24, 1957, in Akron, Ohio, son of Richard and Lorraine Gervenak.
He married Dixie Bertola on June 19, 1977, in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Bob was a welder/fabricator for the majority of his life and was recently employed at Crystal Steel House in Crystal Falls, Michigan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Green Bay Packers and bowling. He was also an avid woodworker and carpenter who loved passing on his knowledge to his son-in-law Matt. His greatest joy in life was being a “Grampie” to his granddaughter Lillian (Lily).
He is survived by his wife of 42 years- Dixie, his daughter Lisa (Matthew) LaFleur of Grand Rapids, MI and one granddaughter Lillian LaFleur. His brothers Gerald (Beverly) Gervenak, David (Lisa) Gervenak, and sister Kathleen (Leslie) LaBombarb as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard, mother Lorraine (Wink), brother Daniel, sister in law Marilyn (Dan) Gervenak and brother in law Leslie (Kathleen) LaBombarb.
A memorial service for Robert will be held at a later date.
David Szews
David M. Szews, 67, of Birnamwood died peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 15, 1952, in Wausau, the son of Norbert and Mary Jane (Zimmerman) Szews.
David proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Darling-Gunderson American Legion Post #341, Birnamwood.
On Jan. 27, 1973, David was united in marriage to Beverly Pietz at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, Hatley.
David worked at Drott for a few years, but his true passion was operating a farm with his family in the town of Norrie. He was a member of the Marathon County Farm Bureau and the Farm Service Agency which he served on the board of directors. He had a love of tractors, especially antique tractors which were in their “work clothes.”
David enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, going out to eat and had a love for the outdoors, especially to make firewood. Family was the most important part of David’s life and he took great pride in being a hunting mentor to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to shoot and loved watching his family participate in sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; two sons, Justin (Tara) Szews and Jared (Ann) Szews; six grandchildren, Mari, Kaya, Sawyer, Malia, Easton and Hanna; siblings, Steve (Annette) Szews, John (Patty) Szews, Ken (Kathy) Szews, Linda (Herb) Gies, Teresa (Ron) Matsche, Karen (Roger) Mortenson and Bonnie (Mike) Block; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Donna) Pietz, Ruth (Ron) Manders, Loraine (Jerome) Esker and Linda (Steve) Borchardt.
David was preceded in death by his parents, and mother and father-in-law, August and Virginia Pietz.
A public visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at St. Florian’s Catholic Church, Hatley. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church and will be live streamed via Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home’s Facebook page at noon. Rev. Gregory Bohren will preside. A graveside service with military rites conducted by the American Legion will be held at 12:45 p.m. at the church cemetery. All are welcome to attend the graveside service.

Sylvia Stockinger
Sylvia C. Stockinger, 95, of Wittenber, died on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Homme Home of Wittenberg. She was born on Feb. 24, 1925, in Eland, the daughter of Felix and Martha (Timm) Szutkowski.
On June 14, 1947, Sylvia was united in marriage to George Stockinger in the town of Norrie. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1998.
Sylvia was a member of Holy Family St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. She enjoyed going to the casino and flower gardening.
Sylvia is survived by her son, David (Susan) Stockinger; grandchildren, Joanna (Robby) Wyman, Chad Stockinger, Matthew (Gen) Stockinger, Travis Stockinger, Shawna Stockinger and Bryan Stockinger; great grandchildren, Emilia, Nelson and Alex and two siblings, Eddie (Dorothy) Szutkowski and Susie Larson.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son Kenneth; brothers Leo, Joseph and Sylvester and her sister, June.

Tracy Steidl
Tracy E. Steidl, 53, of Antigo died on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital and is now at peace following a lengthy illness.
Tracy was born on Oct. 14, 1966, in Oconomowoc, the daughter of John and Ginger (Padinger) Steidl.
Tracy was extremely artistic. She enjoyed painting, drawing and glass blowing. She loved music and spending time with her family and friends.
Tracy is survived by her mother, Ginger Steidl of Aniwa; three children, Joshua Steidl, Aaron Rustick and Molly Rustick and a granddaughter, Grace Bessert.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Funeral Service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Loretta Waegli officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Aniwa. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
