About 200 people attended a “silent protest” Friday in downtown Wausau in response to the death of George Floyd, the man who died this week while in Minneapolis Police custody.

The march, held south of the Marathon County Courthouse, aimed to “increase awareness, provide support for people of color and heal suffering caused by racial inequity and unjust practices,” a flyer at the rally explained.

Photos from the rally, which Wausau Police Chief Ben Bliven attended, are above. All photos by David Stenklyft for Wausau Pilot & Review.
