Dear editor,

I live in Tucson, Arizona, and read the Pilot every day online

I was born and raised in Wausau. From the time I saw black baseball players in Wausau in the Northern League in the mid 1950s to now, I truly never saw the color of their skin. They were human beings just like the rest of the people in the area. It is imperative this nation gets ahold of this situation once and for all. I remember the days in Wausau when black visitors were not allowed to stay at certain places because of the color of their skin. Thank goodness that has changed. We all need to respect others and show that we really want to do away with problems associated with color.

Sincerely,

Richard States of Tucson, Arizona
