WAUSAU – Each June, thousands of people flock to Custer for the annual Energy Fair to learn about the latest sustainable living solutions, but this year’s event has been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

At 10 a.m. today, June 19, Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Route 51” host Shereen Siewert will host a mini energy fair featuring Central Rivers Farmshed Executive Director Jenny Riggenbach and Midwest Renewable Energy Association Executive Director Nick Hylla.  

Riggenbach and Hylla will discuss the benefits of sustainable living and offer some easy ways to minimize household impacts on the environment by using less energy and seeking out alternative energy solutions. 

“Route 51” is heard Fridays at 10 a.m. on The Ideas Network stations 101.3 & 91.9/Wausau, AM 930/Auburndale-Stevens Point, 99.1/Stevens Point, 100.9/Marshfield, 90.3/Park Falls, 89.1/Adams-Wisconsin Rapids, and 89.9/Rhinelander-Eagle River.
