WAUSAU – The city of Wausau began several road construction projects today, June 29.
Pine Ridge Boulevard between Bridge Street and Plaza Drive will be closed to traffic for utility upgrades to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Detour routes will be posted. The closure is expected to last three weeks.
Highway 52 Parkway between the Highway 51 ramps and 18th Avenue will be reduced to one lane for east bound traffic for concrete repairs. Motorists should anticipate delays. The lane closure is anticipated to last one week.
The Bridge Street bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction. All traffic will be shifted to the southern lanes of the bridge to accommodate construction on the north side of the bridge. The lane reduction is anticipated to extend through mid-August, at which time all traffic will be shifted to the north side of the bridge. All construction on the Bridge Street bridge should be complete by the end of October.
