The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office will sponsor a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources certified boater’s safety course. The date, times and location for the course are as follows:

July 23 through July 24: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. 

 The course will be held at the Oneida County Law Enforcement Center, 2000 East Winnebago St., Rhinelander.

Age Requirement. Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1989, must have boater’s safety to legally operate a motorized boat or personal watercraft on Wisconsin waters.

Students are now required to obtain a DNR customer ID number for any recreational safety class they attend. Contact the DNR at 888-936-7463 to obtain this number before the course begins.

Students must be 12 years old to enroll. There is no maximum age, and parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate in this course. Cost for each course is $10 per person.
