WAUSAU – Wausau City Hall has reopened today, July 20, after a temporary shutdown because of COVID-19.

This is a trial week before early voting starts next week along with open book for the city’s assessment department, Mayor Katie Rosenberg said in a memo to employees.

City Hall hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the trial period will continue at
least until Aug. 7, at which time the city will evaluate whether to stay open.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the city has hired a service to continually clean City Hall and focus on high touch areas. The HVAC system has also been altered to bring more fresh air into the building, Rosenberg said in the memo.

Hand sanitizing stations are available for the public upon entering the building. And masks are being made available to employees who want them.
