Residents at a Knowlton-area home were displaced Sunday after their home was badly damaged by a blaze that drew crews from nine area fire departments.

An initial call at 10:40 p.m. July 26 summoned firefighters from SAFER, Kronenwetter, Riverside and Mosinee to the home at 205357 Chickadee Lane for a report of a home on fire with visible flames. The home is located north of Hwy. 34 and just west of Depot Road.

All residents inside the home evacuated and no injuries were reported.

When the first crews arrived on scene, the fire had spread to the attic and front porch.

Additional crews from Wausau, Stevens Point, Rudolph, Edgar and Stratford were called in to assist due to the difficult conditions in fighting the blaze.

The Salvation Army was also called to assist.

There’s no word yet on what caused the blaze.
