Beginning today, United Way of Marathon County will give face masks to anyone who needs them to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The giveaway comes in the wake of Gov. Tony Evers’ statewide mandate on wearing masks in an enclosed space outside of one’s own household effective Aug. 1.

Masks will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, July 31, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at United Way of Marathon County, 705 S. 24th Ave., in Wausau.

You are asked to remain in your car when arriving at the United Way and watch for drive through options and the canopy tent. Masks will be limited to five per car/family.
