Police have identified the victim in a Lincoln County ATV crash as David William Shadrick, 68 of Medford.
Deputies, DNR wardens and first responders were called at 9:25 a.m. Friday to a property on County Road M west of Tower Road in the town of Corning for a report of a crash.
A preliminary investigation suggests Shadrick was riding his four-wheeler on his property the day before when he struck a cable stretched across the driveway.
Shadrick was pronounced dead on the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Paul C. Proulx.
The Wisconsin DNR is investigating the matter. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
