No officers were injured after students armed themselves with rock-filled socks and damaged several buildings at the state’s juvenile prison, officials said Monday.

Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department were called just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday to Lincoln Hills-Copper Lake School in Irma. Merrill police and the Wisconsin State Patrol also responded to the disturbance, which was contained quickly.

Corrections officials say one juvenile was treated for cuts, but no major injuries were reported.

Officials have not said what prompted the disturbance.
