WAUSAU – The Badger State Summer Games will bring Olympic-style sporting events to Wisconsin this weekend, allowing athletes of all ages and abilities to “Go for the Gold.” Those who medal with a gold, silver or bronze are then eligible to compete in the State Games of America taking place in Ames, Iowa, in 2022.

On Aug. 8, BSG will co-host with Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series a mountain bike competition at Nine Mile Recreational Area. Riders will have the choice of a short race (3+ hours), mid race (6+ hours) or a long race (9+ hours).  Bib pick-up will run from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday morning with masks required.  COVID-19 precautions will be in place and we will send out racers in groups of 10 every five minutes. On-site registration is not available to limit exposure. For more details or to register, visit  https://wemseries.com/romp-in-the-swamp-epic/.

Bluff to Bluff Road Race

A great opportunity to test your endurance and biking skills during the first ever Bluff to Bluff Road Race co-hosted by Badger State Games and WiSport Cycling.  A 44-mile road race starting and finishing on the top of Powers Bluff Recreational Area.  This is a first time event, but organizers are excited about the future and look forward to showcasing central Wisconsin.  Covid-19 precautions will be in place and masks are required for check-in.
