WAUSAU – The coronavirus pandemic has upended travel plans and prompted unprecedented changes to the summer vacation season, but there are still great places to visit and safer ways to experience the beauty and wonder of north central Wisconsin. 

At 10 a.m. today, Aug. 14, Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Route 51” host Shereen Siewert welcomes Travel Wisconsin Secretary Designee Sara Meany to the show to talk about the best parks, camping, waterfalls, road trips and other safer options for enjoying the waning days of summer throughout the region. 

“Route 51” airs Fridays at 10 a.m. on The Ideas Network stations 101.3 & 91.9/Wausau, AM 930/Auburndale-Stevens Point, 99.1/Stevens Point, 100.9/Marshfield, 90.3/Park Falls, 89.1/Adams-Wisconsin Rapids, and 89.9/Rhinelander-Eagle River.
