Boys and Girls Club: Wausau Area: On-Site Meal Service Volunteer. Help provide dinner for kids/families via curbside pickup Monday through Friday between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the D.C. Everest Junior High School. Volunteers must be least 18. Meet staff at the school at 4:20 p.m., set up/clean up dinner service area and help staff pack meals while wearing gloves and face masks. The Fix is In: Clinic Intake Assistant. Clinics are held at the Humane Society of Marathon County in Wausau from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and volunteers are needed to greet clients, take cat carriers from clients, check labeling, transport report forms and more. The Salvation Army: Relief/ Fill in Driver. A relief driver is needed as an on-call position. Ride with regular driver to learn the process of picking up food from local grocery stores and restaurants daily. This requires driving a minivan and lifting, loading/unloading and paper work at each stop.  Clean driving record is necessary and must be over the age of 18. Call Colleen at 715-845-4272.

In-Kind Donated Items Needed

Response to COVID-19. Please call the agency first and consider ordering online and having in-kind donations shipped to the specific agency. Please call ahead and arrange with the agency coordinator.

The Open Door: Hygiene Products. Needed are small sized deodorant, razors, shampoo and conditioners, feminine products, lip balm, toothbrushes and toothpaste for people moving from incarceration to community life. Call Anne at 848-4044.

Faith in Action: Brown Paper Grocery Bags.  Volunteers deliver groceries to seniors who cannot get groceries themselves from The Neighbors’ Place.  Bags can be dropped off at 630 Adams St., Wausau, Mon. – Thurs., 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact Jamie at 715-848-8783 or [email protected].
