After five months without the movies, Wausau-area residents can go back to the theater as soon as Friday, according to Marcus Theatres.

Cedar Creek Cinema, 10101 Market St., Rothschild, announced this week the theater will reopen with updated health and safety measures. The theater has been closed since mid-March amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Masks are required except while eating and dining. Patrons should expect to social distance and see increased cleaning and sanitizing. Plexiglass is located in various transaction areas.

Customers can purchase tickets in advance on the Marcus Theatres App or website and place concession orders online to minimize contact, company officials said.
