Muriel Petri
Muriel Ione Petri, 92, of Wausau passed away on Aug. 16, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Muriel was born Nov. 4, 1927, to the late Cecil Claire and Mildred (Coulthurst) Narron. She married Louis E. Petri on Aug. 5, 1948, in Wausau. She graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a Bachelor’s Degree in education and was employed as a teacher in the Wausau area.
She was an avid reader who loved to crochet. She also had a very strong faith. She will be especially missed by her shih tzu, Bella.
She is survived by her children, Jon (Joyce) Petri, and CeCile (Conrad) Sanborn; 12 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Gene Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Petri; daughters, LuCinda Warnke and Trudy Gibbs; sisters, Dawn and Clair; son-in-law, Robert Warnke; grandson, Ean Gibbs; and great-grandson, Jared Symmank.
Private services are being held by the family.

Donald Wendorf
Donald W. Wendorf, 90, Wausau, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020, at his home under the loving care of his family.
Donald was born on Aug. 10, 1930, in Wausau, Wisconsin, the son of William and Helen (Behnke) Wendorf. He attended school in Wausau, graduating from Wausau Senior High in 1948. Donald served his country during the Korean War as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1953. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the ROK Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Occupation Medal (Japan), and the Good Conduct Medal.
On Sept. 8, 1956, Donald married the love of his life, Joyce Darlene Plisch, at St. Paul’s Church in Wausau. Together they raised seven children – five sons and two daughters. Joyce preceded him in death on May 31, 2009.
Donald retired from Wisconsin Public Service in 1992, after serving as a lineman / crew supervisor for 32 years. He was proud to be a dedicated Public Service employee and truly enjoyed the job and the men on his crew.
Donald was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the WPS Men’s Club. After retirement he enjoyed meeting with other WPS retirees in the Men’s Breakfast Club.
Among his favorite past-times, Donald enjoyed playing sheepshead, cribbage and spending time with his family. He played the concertina and loved listening to polkas. Donald was known for being able to name any polka and knew all the lyrics. He also enjoyed helping his family with building and electrical projects.
Donald is survived by four sons, Ronald (Lori) Wendorf, Bergland, MI; Russell (Nancy) Wendorf, Ringle, Robert (Linda) Wendorf, Wausau; Randy (Deb) Wendorf, Hiles, WI; a daughter, Mashelle (Daniel) Winter, Ringle; son-in-law Bruce Hostrawser, Mosinee; 20 grandchildren, Adam, Andy, Jenny, Chris, John, Raissa, Jonathon, Randy, Robyn, Allison, Rhiannon, Rick, Danielle, Ryan, Sarah, Ross, Samantha, Tyler, Rylee, and Willy; and 41 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ivanette Huebner, Wausau. In addition to his wife Joyce, Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister Eileen Krejci; a son, Richard, and a daughter, Monica Hostrawser.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 238537 Del Rio Road, Wausau (north off of Evergreen Road). Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services. The wearing of face masks and social distancing are encouraged. The Rev. Russell Kampfer will officiate. Dad, your life served as an example of faith, loyalty, humor and love. You showed how much you loved your wife, children and grandchildren in countless ways: playing Santa Claus for the grandchildren and “over the top” decorating every Christmas, shoveling your pond by hand every winter so we could ice skate, making campsites for the grandchildren to “camp out” and sleepovers at Grandpa and Grandma’s; Packer parties and countless birthday, anniversary and “no reason at all” parties at your house. You were a man of few words but many loving actions. We love you and will miss you every day until we see you again.
Marjorie Koranda
Marjorie Koranda, 82, Wausau, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Wausau, daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Kandler) Pagel and was raised on the family farm in Marathon. On Sept. 19, 1959, she married a sweet man by the name of Florian Koranda at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2016.
Marjorie was a homemaker throughout the years and loved to listen to Southern gospel and Christian music. She was a member of the Thrive Church in Wausau.
Survivors include her son, David Koranda, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, Florian, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Zeich; and her sister, Theodora Porter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau. Rev. Joel Shelton will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Annabelle “Ann” Tibbetts
Annabelle “Ann” Margaret (Murray) Tibbetts, 90, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away on Aug. 15, 2020, at Cranberry Court Assisted Living Community, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 21, 1930, in Milwaukee, to Lawrence and Florence (Schlotman) Murray. Ann graduated from Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids, in 1948.
Ann may have been raised in the city, but after her marriage to Bernie Tibbetts, she adapted to country life, raising her nine children on an 80-acre dairy farm in Rudolph, Wisconsin. She enjoyed canning from her two gardens and square dancing and cooked huge meals for her family. Ann also traveled to several states, visiting her children. She was a nurse’s aid for the Old Hospital (Manor) for many years. Ann was a devout Catholic, loving mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker.
Ann is survived by her children, Sandy Porter, Steve (Dawn) Tibbetts, Ken (Roseanne) Tibbetts, Lisa (Steve Radtke, all of Wisconsin Rapids and Don (Nanci) Tibbetts of Madison, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Raymond “Bud” (Lorraine) Murray, Adeline Pelner, Marge (Jerry) Wendt, Marie (Roger) Snyder, and Helen Murray; son in laws Tom Osowski, Rick Chialda and Ken Porter and daughter in law Debbie Tibbetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Pat Osowski, Judy Childa and Diane Tibbetts; one son, David Tibbetts; grandsons Jason Osowski and Tommy Tibbetts; her sister, Dorothy Haasl; and Bernie Tibbetts.
Services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. officiated by Father Janusz Kowalski.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Ann’s granddaughter, Leah Schaak, and the staff at Cranberry Court for their kindness and tender, loving care of our mother.

Harold Kriegel
Harold E. Kriegel, 92, of Antigo died on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1927, in Tigerton, the son of Edward and Esther (Kohn) Kriegel.
Harold was a United States Army veteran.
On Oct. 18, 1952, Harold was united in marriage to Elmyra Hoffman at St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon.
Harold worked as head of maintenance at the Mattoon Veneer Mill from 1952 until his retirement in 1991. He also wired many houses and had a hobby farm until 1960.
Harold enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Michigan and traveling the country with his family.
Harold is survived by his wife, Elmyra; three children, Shirley Kriegel of Shawano, Kim (Laurie) Kriegel of Danbury, Wisconsin, and Sheila (David) Manney of Antigo; four grandchildren, Sam and Matthew Manney, Nolan (Sarah) Kriegel and Mason Kriegel; two brothers, Pat (Nancy) Kriegel of Antigo and David (Karen) Kriegel of Arkansas and two sisters, Darlene Doll of Menomonee Falls and Marrian (Richard) Hoyer of Hubertus.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joyce Beber, Diane Eden and Donna Ray in infancy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, 2020, at St. John Lutheran Church, Mattoon. Rev. Dean Bertsch will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins, with military rites conducted by the John Owen American Legion, Mattoon. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood, and again on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
