Wausau – Imagination will run wild and logic abandoned in Monk Botanical Garden’s fantastical, interactive and nonsensical event, Alice in the Gardens.

Participants will be led down the rabbit hole through an array of magical scenes, performed by Out of the Woods Theatre throughout the garden, stopping on occasion to play a life-sized game of chess, flamingo croquet, paint the roses or maybe take their chance with the Red Queen.

The magical experience will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Monk Botanical Gardens in Wausau.

The event wraps up with a spectacular tea party hosted by the Mad Hatter.

There also will be a plethora of fun family activities after the walking play, including a tea party with beverages and snacks.

Go dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters for a chance to win a Monk Gardens membership. The best dressed in each walking group will win a free membership through 2021.

Masks will be required when checking in, and when interacting with volunteers, staff, or anyone outside of your group. Social distancing between yourself and anyone outside of your group is required.
