Craig Reineking
Craig R. Reineking, 72, of Rhinelander, passed away August 18, 2020 at home after a long battle with COPD.
Craig was born in Wausau on May 4, 1948 to Robert and Margaret (Mohr) Reineking. He attended Wausau High School and the University of Wisconsin. He married his wife Barbara in 1970, and together had two sons; Bradly and Mark. Craig served in the Army National Guard from 1969 until 1973. He began his business career with Graebel Moving and Storage in December of 1969 as a Management Trainee in Wausau and held numerous management and executive positions with the Graebel Companies, living in various cities across America until retiring in 2017, ultimately moving to their summer home in northern Wisconsin.
Craig served on the Board of Directors and was a one-term President of the Marathon County Humane Society. One of his greatest passions was downhill skiing and he served on the National Ski Patrol for 30 years and was honored with their Outstanding Service award. He was co-founder of the Ski For Youth and he and his wife Barb were co-commissioners of the Badger State Winter Games. He was also a member of the Rib Mountain Ski Club and was their 2-term President. Craig was a member of the Wausaqua Water Ski Team, where he served as President for one term. He was also on the Board of the Wausau Area Chamber of Commerce and the Board of the University of Wisconsin Marathon Campus Foundation until his death, serving 3 terms as President of the Foundation. Craig was honored by the UW Foundation with the Spirit of Excellence Award in 2017. In the summer, Craig could usually be found on his John Deere riding mower, making sure his lawn was perfectly manicured. His other passions were fishing and hunting with his sons and lifelong friends. In particular, the annual duck hunting trip to North Dakota with family and friends was greatly anticipated. Deer hunting in northern Wisconsin also created many fun memories for family and friends that will be cherished forever. In his later years, Craig enjoyed hunting and fishing with grandchildren and pulling them waterskiing. He will be greatly missed.
Craig is survived by his wife Barbara, their sons Brad (Nancy) of Fox River Grove, IL and Mark (Kathryn) of Cary, IL; and grandchildren Pierce, Gracie, Nicholas, Phoebe, Carter and Brooke. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Scott and Jeffrey.
A private family service is being held at Brainard Funeral Home- Wausau Chapel. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Craig’s Life on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2:00-6:00 pm at Sylvan Hill Park Chalet, 1329 Sylvan Street, Wausau, WI 54403. Casual dress, masks and social distancing will be observed.
Harry Syring
It is with sadness that the family of Harry Syring announces his passing on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the age of 95 years, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau.
Harry was born on the family farm in the Town of Frankfort, Marathon County, Wisconsin on February 24, 1925, to the late Paul and Ida (Leffel) Syring. His early years were spent in a one-room schoolhouse. He graduated from Colby High School in 1943, and enlisted in the Navy in May 1944. He was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Seaman Second Class in July 1945. In September of that year, he married the late Regina Lake in Bessemer, MI, and they had two daughters. Harry is survived by his daughter Sandra (Thomas) Allen, Wausau, his six grandchildren, Tracey (Kevin) Hughes, Bellevue, WA, Julie (Brett) Coffin, Scarborough, ME, Andrew (Caro) Johnson, Eau Claire, WI, Scott (Natalie) Allen, Eau Claire, WI, Leslie (Joe) Marston, Mound, MN, and Katie Johnson, Lakeview, MN, and eleven great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, his wife Regina, his daughter Patricia and her husband Gregory Johnson, Harry was preceeded in death by his ten brothers and sisters, Urban, Esther, Karl, Ella, Paul, Arthur, Herbert, Ida, Betty, and Crystal. Harry worked at 3M Company in Wausau for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987.
Harry enjoyed fishing and hunting at his cottage on Somo Lake near Tomahawk, and woodworking and gardening at his home in Wausau. Before her death, Harry and Regina enjoyed traveling extensively in Europe, Alaska, Florida, and much of the United States.
At the time of his death, he had been a resident of Applegate Terrace Assisted Living in Wausau. Harry’s family would like to thank the staff of Applegate for the kind and thoughtful care they provided him in his last years, and also thank the staff of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for making his final days comfortable.
In memory of Harry a visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Interment services will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

Lucille Vander Geest
Lucille Lydia Vander Geest, 91, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Applegate Terrace under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born in the town of Rib Falls on April 22, 1929 to the late Fred and Mary (Reuter) Bradfish. Lucille grew up in the town of Rib Falls and eventually the family moved to Wausau. She worked at Northwestern Laundry where she met her future husband, Richard Vander Geest. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau on September 21, 1964.
Lucille enjoyed travels with Rich to their favorite places in Hawaii and to Branson, Missouri. She loved her time getting together with family and friends, and always enjoyed her flowers.
Survivors include sisters, Elizabeth (Billy) Stolze and Mary Jane (Keith) Cannon; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Lana Bradfish and Barbara Bradfish; and special friends, Delores Borkenhagen and Eunice Baumann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Fred and Mary Bradfish; and brothers, Victor (Phyllis), Florian, Leonard, and Norman Bradfish.
A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce Street, Wausau, with Rev. Zach Holdorf officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forestville Cemetery, town of Easton.

Annabelle “Ann” Margaret Tibbetts
Annabelle “Ann” Margaret (Murray) Tibbetts, age 90, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on August 15, 2020, at Cranberry Court Assisted Living Community, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 21, 1930, in Milwaukee, to Lawrence and Florence (Schlotman) Murray. Ann graduated from Lincoln High School, Wisconsin Rapids, in 1948.
Ann may have been raised in the city, but after her marriage to Bernie Tibbetts, she adapted to country life, raising her 9 children on an 80 acre dairy farm in Rudolph, WI. She enjoyed canning from her 2 gardens and square dancing and cooked huge meals for her family. Ann also traveled to several states, visiting her children. She was a Nurses Aid for the Old Hospital (Manor) for many years. Ann was a devout catholic, loving mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker.
Ann is survived by her children, Sandy Porter, Steve (Dawn) Tibbetts, Ken (Roseanne) Tibbetts, Lisa (Steve Radtke, all of Wisconsin Rapids and Don (Nanci) Tibbetts of Madison, WI; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Raymond “Bud” (Lorraine) Murray, Adeline Pelner, Marge (Jerry) Wendt, Marie (Roger) Snyder, and Helen Murray; son in laws Tom Osowski, Rick Chialda and Ken Porter and daughter in law Debbie Tibbetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 daughters, Pat Osowski, Judy Childa and Diane Tibbetts; one son, David Tibbetts; grandsons Jason Osowski and Tommy Tibbetts; her sister, Dorothy Haasl; and Bernie Tibbetts.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Father Janusz Kowalski.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Ann’s granddaughter, Leah Schaak, and the staff at Cranberry Court for their kindness and tender, loving care of our mother.
