Annette M. Lach
On August 21, 2020, my wife of 52 years went to her heavenly home. She was born on December 5, 1945, to Henry and Anna (Kniess) Heinz. Annette married Terrance J. Lach on May 18, 1968, at Zion Lutheran Church.
Annette is survived by her husband, Terrance; son, Kurt Anthony Lach (Allison) of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Kari Lynn Thorpe and grandsons, Benjamin and Wyat of Madison, WI; grandson, Dayne Malloy (Meg) and great-grandson, Ike of Centennial, CO; one sister, Sandy Ryan of Schofield, WI; two brothers, Dale Heinz of Merrill, WI and Milton (Marlene) Heinz of Wausau, WI; and sisters-in-law, Pat (Eldon) Pagel, Sandy Hintz, and Sue (Gary) Wolslegel of Wausau, WI.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joyce (Alvin) Goetsch and Mary Ann (Elmer) Wimmer; three brothers, Henry Jr., Roger, and Donald Heinz; and her brother-in-law, Herman Hintz III.
Annette enjoyed gardening, had numerous flower gardens, and knitting. She made 158 personalized Christmas stockings and many scarves and mittens for Zion’s Strassenfest.
Annette’s family extends a special thank you to Aspirus Hospice Home Care for their professional, compassionate care of Annette. We are extremely grateful to my sisters, Pat, Sandy, and Sue for the many hours of bedside vigil, the many meals provided by neighbors and Brian, and many visits by Annette’s friend, Deb, whose nursing experience and compassion was very helpful. I would also like to express a very special thank you to Pastor Steven Gjerde for his prayers and many visits. Annette will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church, 709 Sixth Street, Wausau, with Rev. Steven Gjerde officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.

Carol Goerg
Carol Jean Goerg, 74, of Schofield, passed away August 23, 2020 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Carol was born September 26, 1945 to the late Paul and Viola (Neumueller) Anderson. She is survived by her children Debbie Goerg and Mitchel Goerg; grandchildren Alexander Goerg and Annali Goerg; and brother Duane (Mary Lou) Anderson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Brainard Funeral Home- Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Burial will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Medford, WI. Masks and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made out to Carol’s family.
Elmer G. Schleif
Elmer G. Schleif, 92, died Sunday, August 23, 2020 under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care at his home.
He was born February 7, 1928 in Chicago, son of the late Gustav and Viola (Pankow) Schleif. On October 8, 1955 he married Virginia Kluender at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wausau. She preceded him in death on June 3, 1981. On April 12, 1990 he married Viola “Vi” Wanish in Las Vegas. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2014.
Elmer started as a lineman with General Telephone Company until he was drafted in the Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Germany where he lived with a German family and taught them English. He also spent time in Switzerland where he enjoyed skiing. Upon returning to the United States he was promoted to supervisor. Elmer enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf league and taking his daughters dancing. He also enjoyed traveling with Vi to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Alaska and especially to Texas where they spent winters for 15 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Janet (Ralph) Ferge, Weston, Ann (Bruce) Rhyner, Hudson, Gretchen (Robert) Karlen, Sussex and Heidi (Jason Kramer) Kelly, Wausau; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith, grandson, Justin Ferge and sisters, Irene Goetsch and Elaine Leight.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Friday, August 28, 2020 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post No. 10, Wausau. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth St. funeral home.

Ruben Steve Lepak
Ruben S. Lepak, 87, Wausau, formerly of Marathon, died Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Wausau Manor, under the care of Heartland Hospice Care.
He was born July 21, 1933 in Marathon, son of the late John and Constance (Busko) Lepak. On February 7, 1959 he married Patricia Wadinski in Wausau.
Ruben was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He farmed in Marathon and worked for the Mosinee Paper Mill for 35 years until his retirement.
Survivors include, his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia Lepak; two sons, Christopher Lepak, Madison and Andrew Lepak, Wausau; two daughters, Lisa (Thomas) Hall, Wausau and Sara (Brian) Kromke, Holmen; nine grandchildren, Tyler Lepak, Trevor (Brianne) Lepak, Dayna (Kyle) Ewert; Mariah (Dan Gorman) Hall, Jordan (Denise) Hall, Molly (David) Jackson, Maggie (Jayke Meyers) Hall, Nicholas Kromke and Gracie Kromke; eight great-grandchildren, Huxley, Harper, Karsyn, Karl, Karter, Atalaya, Tristan and Emmeline; three siblings, Cyril (Patricia) Lepak, JR (Julie) Lepak and Betty Jansen; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael; his daughter, Diana; and five siblings, Norbert, Daniel and Mark Lepak, Julia Lang and Delores Hornung.
There will be no services held per Ruben’s request.

Irmgard Hedwig (Grosskurth) Bunge
Irmgard Hedwig Bunge, 86, Wausau died Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Pride TLC Living Campus.
Irmgard was born March 24, 1934 in Antigo to the late Ernest and Caroline (Tegtmeier) Grosskurth. She graduated from Antigo High School. Irmgard worked as a crossing guard for the Town of Stettin for many years before working at Connor Forest industries for 11 years. She enjoyed fishing, dancing and crocheting.
Irmgard is survived by her daughters, Lila (Mike) Howlett of Wausau and Sally Sooley of Merrill; granddaughter, Amanda (Sam) McLellan of Wausau; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Andie, Sawyer and Carter; sister, Thea (Grosskurth) Lee of Wichita, KS; and brothers, Karl (Janis), Ernest Jr. and Werner (Rosemary) Grosskurth all of Antigo. She is preceded in death by daughter, Linda; sister, Gerda (Grosskurth) Henkelman and brother, Siegfried Grosskurth.

Robert Schedler
Robert Schedler, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 24.
Son of the late Rev. Herman and Lillie Schedler, he was preceded in death by his sister Florence (Mas) Hayakawa and brother Eugene (Johanna) Schedler. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Sharon (Mootz), sons Mark (Stacia) of Eagan MN, David (Janet) of Oshkosh WI, and Bruce (Francesca) of Naperville IL, daughter Beth (Brian) Bisgrove of Wausau, brothers Richard (Lorraine) of Stevens Point, and Harold (Vonnie) of Sacramento CA, sister-in-law Shirley (Robert) Huebner, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Bob went to Maple Grove elementary school in Hamburg and high school and college at Concordia in Milwaukee. He was drafted into the Army and, during the Korean war, worked in communications for two years in Berlin, Germany. Bob worked at Wausau Builders Supply for many years, starting as a delivery driver to owning the business. After retirement, he grew restless and enjoyed working part-time for Van der Geest Dairy Farm.
Bob had a great sense of humor and would stop and chat with people whenever he had a chance. He enjoyed watching the birds, playing cards, photography, and woodturning, where he made hundreds of beautiful pens. Bob was a man of strong faith, loved by his family and friends, and will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on held Saturday, August 29, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be held at Stettin Christian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Mark’s Church. Masks are required.

Margaret E. Golding
Margaret E. Golding, 94, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2020 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor. She was born on May 21, 1926 in Marshfield WI, the daughter of the late Elmer and Harriet (Moede) Lautenbach.
In 1946 at the suggestion of a friend Margaret began writing pen-pal letters to a soldier in England. She moved to Wausau in 1947 to work for Employers Mutual Insurance operating a teletype machine. After 17 months of pen-pal letters that British Commando, Harold Golding came to America in March of 1948, and was sponsored by Margaret’s father Elmer. They married on December 11th, 1948. Margaret was a housewife and stay at home mother. She helped with the family service station business for many years. She lived independently until moving to Wausau Manor in June 2020. Margaret was a lovely and gentle woman that had a long beautiful life.
She is survived by her loving family, three sons; Rod (Linda) Golding, Houston TX, Mark (Karen) Golding, Merrill, Jeff Golding, Weston, daughter Yvonne (John) Rief, Westboro, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Golding and sister Lucile Campbell.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 1:00 PM.

Aden Van Norman
Aden Van Norman, 96 of Wausau, died on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Wausau Manor.
He was born on September 23, 1923 in the town of Fairbanks, Shawano County, the son of Niles and Ella (Porter) Van Norman.
On November 13, 1956, Aden was united in marriage to Janet Mogenson in Shawano.
In his younger years, Aden was in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Aden was employed at Tigerton Lumber Company and Kersten Lumber, Birnamwood for many years until his retirement. Aden was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed cutting wood and driving his tractor. He especially enjoyed hunting and his many trips to Mercer, always looking for the big buck.
Aden is survived by his wife, Janet; two children, Patricia (Mark) Peterson of Schofield and Charles Van Norman of Green Bay; two grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Peterson and Mark (friend Kimberly) Peterson and four great-grandchildren, Braydon, Sawyer, Corbin and Calvin. Aden was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Vada, Ruth, Alfred, Howard and Roland.
A private service will be held at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins, Shawano County.
