Small Business of the Year Awards.

WAUSAU — The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce named the three 2020 Small Business of the Year Award recipients on Wednesday, August 26 during a special event which was broadcast on Central Wisconsin The CW WAOW 9.2 and streamed on the News 9 WAOW Facebook page and is now available on the Chamber’s YouTube channel.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes business growth, community involvement and innovative efforts in the Wausau region and was a part of the Chamber’s rescheduled Business Week. Recipients were named in three categories:

LB Medwaste Services Inc



Business-to-Business category: LB Medwaste Services Inc provides medical waste and shredding services to customers across the Midwest. For more than 30 years, the business has offered a wide variety of services, along with exceptional customer service. The company operates the only waste processing facility in Wisconsin north of Milwaukee and Madison, while also offering OSHA and DOT training online and in-person.

Wausau Smiles



Business-to-Consumer category: Wausau Smiles Dental LLC is devoted to offering excellent customer services and an exceptional patient experience. Staff enjoy ongoing training and access to the latest and most effective dental technologies. The business has grown their number of active patients by more than 3,400 and has grown the size of their staff four-fold since 2014.

Ktech Charities Inc



Charitable Non-Profit category: K-tech Charities Inc was established K-tech Kleening in 2006 to provide focused management for the business’ commitment to social responsibility. The organization donates countless volunteer hours while raising more than one million dollars in financial aid for local individuals and non-profit organizations. The K-tech team takes great pride in giving back to the community and remain committed to their philanthropic ideals.

“This award is recognition for all the hard work our team puts in.” said Dr. Aaron Bushong, Owner of Wausau Smiles Dental. “We have a great team who are involved in the community and provide great patient care.”

“We’ve been very blessed,” said Craig Kersemeir, President of K-tech Charities. “Thanks to all of our volunteers we’ve been able to raise more than $1 million which has stayed here in our community.”

A Small Business of the Year Recognition Ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 27. Each of the 2020 Small Business of the Year recipients will describe their paths to success during this live webcast.

The Chamber rescheduled their annual Business Week events for the week of Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28. Business Week features a variety of free virtual events, open to both members and non-members.

The week will wrap-up with a Name That Jingle Virtual Game Show at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 28. Watch as contestants attempt to identify the member business by listening to just a few notes of a jingle.
