Officials in the D.C. Everest School District confirmed Friday a staff member at Hatley Elementary tested positive for COVID-19, but say classes will begin Tuesday as scheduled.
As of Friday Marathon County is reporting 764 confirmed cases and 13 deaths.

On August 28, 2020, the D.C. Everest Area School District was notified that one of its staff members has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The district is actively working with the Marathon County Health Department and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of its students and staff. Per the district’s established protocols, the building will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The district has received approval from the health department to open the school for instruction on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
The Marathon County Health Department is working to quickly identify, notify, and quarantine any people who may have come into close contact with the affected person and who may be at risk of getting sick.
