MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin reported 3,046 new cases of COVID-19 and 36 more deaths attributed to the virus, according to data released Saturday by the state Department of Health Services.
Officials say 1,002 people are hospitalized, including 222 in intensive care.
Wisconsin has seen a total of 505,058 cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began and a total of 5,155 people have died, including 185 in Marathon County.
The state’s death count is the 22nd highest in the country overall and the 32nd highest per capita at 95 deaths per 100,000 people, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
Over the past two weeks, the rolling average number of daily new cases has increased by 445, an increase of 16.4%. The two-week average of new cases has been rising after a gradual decrease following a peak in mid-November.
There were 676 new cases per 100,000 people in Wisconsin over the past two weeks, which ranks 36th in the country for new cases per capita.
