One person died Monday after a fire at a trailer park in Marshfield, officials said.
Crews were called just after 3 p.m. Monday to a report of smoke coming from a trailer at 3401 Frey Court. When crews arrived, thick black smoke was pouring from the structure, hampering firefighters’ ability to check for an occupant inside.
The blaze was knocked down in minutes and crews entered to discover the victim lying on the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials estimate the damage at about $25,000 and said the structure had significant refuse inside.
Marshfield Fire and Police Department officials are investigating the blaze and have not yet pinpointed a cause. The victim’s name and age have not been released.
