Lois J. Drengler
Lois Jean (Effa) Drengler, 84, of Weston passed away on January 23, 2022.
Lois was born in Wausau, WI on April 8, 1937, to the late Alexander and Dorothy (Lombard) Effa. She graduated from Wausau High School in 1955 and upon graduation attended Stevens Point state college. After college she worked at Employers Insurance Company in Wausau.
Lois’s ability to dance the jitterbug while not spilling a beer on her saddle shoes was one of the many things that caught the eye of John Drengler, her husband of 58 years. Lois and John were married on August 27, 1960. They and their children John and Jane lived in Wausau and Merrill.
Lois enjoyed spending time with her many close friends. She shared wonderful stories of fun-filled luncheons with the Class of ‘55 girls, casino weekends, concerts, and shopping trips. Lois was a loyal Wisconsin sports fan. She especially loved the Brewers and Packers, never missing a game on TV. “Up North” was Lois’s favorite place to be. She looked forward to family trips to Minocqua and St. Germain. You would often find her sitting by the lake enjoying the beauty of the north woods and hoping a passing speed boat driver would stop to give her a ride.
Lois is survived by her children John, III (Daryn) Drengler, Appleton, WI; Jane (Steve) Johnson, Naperville, IL, and her beloved grandchildren Kate and Ben Johnson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents and brother James Effa.

Angeline E. Schmidt
Angeline Ella (Bedynek) Schmidt, 95, of Wausau passed away peacefully Sunday, January 23, 2022, under Aspirus Hospice Care.
She was born March 6, 1926, to Joseph and Ella (Hoffman) Bedynek in Marathon City, WI, was baptized June 19, 1926, and confirmed June 5, 1938. She married Orville Schmidt on April 26, 1947, at Rib Falls Methodist Church. When Orville passed away in 2014, they were married for 67 years.
She was a graduate of Marathon High School. In her early years she worked at Employers Insurance and at J.C. Penney. She then became a stay-at-home mom as well as assisting Orville in all aspects of his business, Orville Schmidt Trucking and Rib Falls Sales Real Estate Auction Services. She worked for many years doing ginseng work for others as well as being a partner in T & O Enterprises also raising ginseng.
She enjoyed her monthly sheepshead games with a group of lady friends. She also enjoyed going to antique shows and refinished many lovely pieces of furniture. She liked watching the birds and deer in her yard and working in her beautiful flower beds. She was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wausau and was involved in their Welfare Workers group.
Angeline wished to be remembered for her strong sense of family that remained throughout her life by giving care and comfort to her siblings.
She is survived by one son, Tommy Schmidt and wife Gail (Richmond) Schmidt of Wausau, and one daughter, Tamara (Schmidt) and husband Jody Frieders, of Tomahawk. She is also survived by four grandchildren whom she was extremely proud of, Jennifer Schmidt, Wausau, Bradley and Katie (Fraaza) Schmidt, Weston, Bethany (Frieders) and Jared Seubert, Edgar, and Craig and Kayleigh (Natzke) Frieders, Marathon; four great-granddaughters, Tyla Beilke-Seubert, Kali and Lakelyn Seubert, Edgar, and Brynn Frieders, Marathon, and one brother Allen Bedynek; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband and his parents, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlyle (Merlin) Hoff, Rosalene (William) Peterson, Arvella (Ervin) Koenig, and sister-in-law Ann Bedynek, two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Adeline (Schmidt) and Harold Radke, Marella (Schmidt) and Elroy Goetsch, and brother-in-law Arlon Schmidt and wife Delphine, and a special niece Jolene (Hoff) Griener and husband Russell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 10:30 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service at Restlawn Memorial Chapel as well as entombment. Pastor Timothy Smith will officiate. Joyce A. Roberts
Joyce Ann Roberts passed away peacefully in the early hours on Monday, January 17th, 2022 in Wausau Wisconsin. Joyce was born March 31st, 1935 to Richard and Claudina Krueger in Wausau. They lived just around the corner from Grandma Thomas. Most of the neighborhood was made up of my mother’s relatives. On April 7th, 1954 Joyce was united in marriage to Kenneth David Roberts in Wausau. After their wedding, they began their adventures traveling the world while dad served in the US Army.
Joyce was a beloved great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, wife and friend. Our mother just adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There isn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. Mom’s greatest joy was her family whom she loved spending time with. Mother was the family historian. She would share stories of the Schmidt and Krueger family as we were growing up. What exciting tales she had to share.
Mother had a love animals. We had an array of pets as we were growing up. Mom had her two cats Sadie and Maya until the end. Mom would feed the stray cats of the neighborhood, and fed the two baby skunks by her deck for some time. She attended Sawdust Days in Oshkosh one year for an animal attraction and held two killer boa constrictors and thought nothing of it. We never knew mother liked snakes, she never appreciated the boys bringing snakes into the house.
Our beloved mother belonged to the “breakfast club” in Wausau. She would get together with her numerous girlfriend’s and they would have breakfast once a week. What an interesting group of women. It must have been like high school, gossiping and chatting away. We are grateful Joyce had these wonderful friends in her life, they brought so much joy to her.
Mom was a fabulous cook. She made angel food cakes with fluffy frosting for her children’s birthdays. Fabulous scalloped potatoes, delicious pumpkin bars and banana bread. Joyce made Grandma Krueger’s “double boiled” fruit salad, no one can follow that recipe. Home made macaroni and cheese, yum, yum!
Joyce worked as a CNA most of her life. She started a memorial on Grand Avenue, then North Hospital on the hill. When North Hospital closed down, she transferred to Wausau Hospital Center until her retirement.
Joyce was pre-deceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth David Roberts; sister, Nancy Roberts; brother-in-law, David Roberts; 2 year old brother, Tommy Krueger and grandson, BJ Schmidt.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth David (Eve) Roberts of Anchorage, AK, son, Claude (Heidi) Roberts of Wausau, daughter, Gloria (Rob) Brandt of Wausau and daughter, Carol (Robert) Roberts-Schmidt of Oshkosh. She leaves behind her 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, DuWayne of Wausau, and many other family members, friends and beloved cats Maya and Sadie.
The hardest part about losing mother is wanting to pick up the phone and talk to her about the grandkids, how everyone is doing, work, and travels, but she isn’t there anymore, only in our dreams.
A service to celebrate Joyce’s legacy wil be held 11:00 am Monday, January 31st at Wesley Methodist Church, 1101 Elm St. Wausau, with visitation from 9:00 am – 11:00am at the church. Helke Funeral Home is assisting the family. www.helke.com

Lynn Marie Russell (Pregont), age 71, of Wausau, died at home of natural causes on Friday, January 21, 2022
Lynn is survived by her daughter Rachel (Terry) Dehnel; grandson Allen (Sarah) Dehnel and their daughter Luna Ray Lynn Dehnel; granddaughter Lindsey (Aleks Hein) Dehnel; siblings Jimmy (James) Pregont Jr., Liz (Duane) Wolfe, Susan Pregont, Michael Pregont, and Michelle Pregont; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents James R. Pregont Sr. and Rosemary E. (Feck) Pregont; and brothers Tony and Eddie Pregont

Cheryl A. Moeller
Cheryl A. Moeller, 64, Wausau passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her home.
She was born February 7, 1957, in Wausau, daughter of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Koeller) Dennison. On May 8, 1982, she married Norman Moeller in Wausau. He survives.
Cheryl worked at 29 Super Foods and Menards but for more than 26 years she was employed with Sam’s Club in Rib Mountain. Some of her favorite pastimes included going to yards sales, riding motorcycle with her husband Norman and being involved with the local HOG Chapter in Wausau.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Moeller, Wausau, her children, Brian Matthew Moeller, Wausau and Rebecca (Lee Calhoun) Moeller, Hatley, three grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jaxon and Caydence, her siblings, Wayne (Debra) Dennison, Jerry (Laurie) Dennison, Dawn (Brian) Cassell and Jimmy Meverden, her brothers and sisters-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Jane M. Myszka
Jane M. Myszka, 76, Edgar, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 24, 2022, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
She was born July 24, 1945 in Wausau, daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Laidlaw) Nowack. On August 1, 1964, she married the love of her life Norbert T. Myszka at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stratford. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2019.
Jane loved her role as a homemaker and mother of three boys and worked outside the home for Marathon Cheese Corp. and Color Vision Printing. She was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and the St. John PCCW.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed going up north to the family cottage on Lake Alice, bird watching, crafting, baking and gardening. Jane had a good sense of humor and loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three sons, Mike (Sarah) Myszka, Wausau, Keith (Michele) Myszka, Kronenwetter and Jeff Myszka, Edgar; one grandson, Tim Myszka, Colorado; one great grandson, Gabriel Myszka, Colorado; one step grandson, Josh Brenden, Wausau; two step great granddaughters; and three siblings, Nancy Schoenfuss, Stratford, Mark (Karen) Nowack, Marshfield and Richard “Dick” (Bernell) Nowack, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband, Norbert, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Roy and Jerry Nowack.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Alan Wierzba will preside. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Kathleen P. Bloemers
Kathleen P. Bloemers, 81, passed away January 23, 2022 at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston.
She was born January 15, 1941 in Milwaukee to the late Nathan and Rose (Olson) Pereles. On August 15, 1964 she married Roger Bloemers in Milwaukee.
Kathleen was a homemaker who also worked as a telephone secretary for the Telephone Answering Service for over 30 years. Kathleen enjoyed knitting, making crafts, shopping, traveling and cheering for the Packers. She never missed a family sporting event or performance. She was proud of her Norwegian/German heritage and she loved spending time with her sister and Milwaukee family. Kathleen was kind hearted and her outgoing personality made it easy for her to meet new friends.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Bloemers; children, Susan (Thomas) McDonald, Sarah (Dean) Nienhuis and Eric (Rocky Williams) Bloemers; grandchildren, Allison (Mark) Hugus, Anna and Caroline McDonald, Samuel, Elle and Jackson Nienhuis; great-grandbaby Hugus on the way; sister, JoAnn Fenske, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at New Hope Community Church,229375 County Road J, Wausau. Rev. Tony Lombardo will officiate. Burial will be in Forestville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services all at the church.

Youa K. Chang
Youa Khang Chang, 86, passed away on January 7, 2022 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Youa was born in Punong, Laos on October 8th, 1935. She was born to the late Vang Yee Khang and Vue Yang and had four siblings. In her first marriage, Youa had one son. When she later married Say Kao Chang she was blessed with four more children; all whom she raised as her own.
She became a refugee of the Vietnam War but was fortunate enough to make a home in the United States. Youa and her family were one of the first Hmong families to arrive in America and were accepted into Dallas, North Carolina in 1976. In 1995, Youa and her family moved to Wausau, Wisconsin.
Youa was the beloved matriarch of a large family. She was hard-working, wise, and kind. Her love came in the form of always making sure everyone was fed and in good health. She also enjoyed caring for young children and the family dog, Gunther. In her free time she liked sewing traditional Hmong embroidery, paj ntaub.
Her memory will live on through all those who hold her dear in their hearts. Survivors include her four remaining children, Pang Khang, Lee Yang, Lyvong Chang, and Michael Chang, 32 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings, husband, son, Pao Chang, daughter-in-law, Choua Bla Thao, and grandson, Jesse Yang.
Funeral services will take place at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Homes, 3400 Stewart Ave, Wausau, from 9am until 8pm on Sunday, January 30th, 2022. Burial services will be held 9am to 11am on Monday, January 31st, 2022.
Patrick Heckert
Patrick Heckert, 78, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Mosinee.
He was born August 2, 1943 in Antigo, son of the late Haelett and Mable (Theilman) Heckert.
Patrick served his country in the United States Air Force.
Survivors include his children, Brad (Theresa) Heckert, Kevin Heckert and Annette (Marshall) Burstein; sisters, Elizabeth and Pauline Heckert; brothers, Warren, Keith (Sue) and Timothy Heckert.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Karl, Raymond, Benjamin and Peter.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post No. 10, Wausau. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.

Melissa J. Khlap
Melissa Joy Khlap, 44, Kronenwetter, was called home to eternal life on January 21, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI after a brave and courageous fight.
Melissa was born April 11, 1977 in Wausau, to Sandrea Louise Radtke and the late Daniel James Pigeon. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on August 21, 1977 and confirmed on May 5, 1991.
Melissa graduated from D.C. Everest Senior High, Class of 1995. She earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Northcentral Technical College in 2003. Melissa was a dedicated employee of Aldi for 21 years.
Melissa’s three children were her pride and joy and she was a devoted mother, giving them everything she could in life. She was also an attentive daughter and had a powerful bond with her mother.
Melissa was always willing to help anyone in need and she gave the best hugs. She was generous, kind, creative and charismatic. Melissa had impeccable taste and her radiance could be felt in any room she entered. Some of her favorite pastimes included spending time with family and friends, having campfires, playing competitive games including cornhole and darts, and attending her children’s events. She also enjoyed decorating, tending to her yard and finding a good deal. Melissa was adventurous and loved travel adventures with her children. Her sense of humor, her beautiful smile and her caring heart will be missed by many. Melissa’s loss is immeasurable and we were blessed to have had her with us for the limited time that we did.
Survivors include her loving children, Mateo Khlap, Maliya Khlap, and Milanni Khlap; her mother, Sandrea Radtke and stepfather Keith Hustedt; Abed Sughayer (fiancé), Ren Khlap (father of her children), many aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable relatives and friends.
Melissa was welcomed with open arms to her Eternal Home by many loved relatives including her father, Daniel Pigeon, maternal grandparents Leo Radtke and Mary Rockman Stone, step-grandfather Robert Stone, paternal grandparents, Oscar and Helen Pigeon, uncle Timothy Radtke, aunts Gloria Matha Mabugu and Cynthia Falcon, and many other loved relatives.
The Celebration of Life Service for Melissa will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. with service beginning at 1:00 p.m. The location is Buettgen Funeral Home, 900 Old Highway 51, Mosinee, Wisconsin, 54455.

Marilyn Baumann
Marilyn Baumann, 86 of Schofield went to her heavenly home on January 24, 2022. She was born to Arthur and Selma Kittel in Wausau on August 2, 1935, the oldest of seven children.
She met the love of her life, Wilbur Baumann at Litzer’s Hall in the Town of Hewitt. They loved to square dance at Litzer’s and continued to do so until he was drafted by the Army in November 1952. Wib and Marilyn were married on April 6, 1953 before he shipped off to the Korean War. After he returned from duty in 1954, they settled down in the Wausau area where they raised their six children. They owned and operated Baumann’s Bar in the 1970s and managed the Deer Run Mobile Park in Merrill for 14 years before moving to Schofield.
One of their favorite spots to spend their free time was north of Tomahawk at the Little Rice Resort. They spent a number of summers there, four wheeling, fishing and relaxing. They also enjoyed going to the races at State Park Speedway and a few other local tracks. After Wib’s passing in 2014, Marilyn continued her love of racing and could be found at State Park Speedway throughout the summer and fall seasons. Marilyn also continued her love of crocheting and her annual homemade crocheted gifts will continue to comfort her family.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Sherry Tietz, Randy (Paul Cybula), Cindy (Judy Schraufnagel), Scott (Amanda) and Sheldon (Tina); grandchildren: Christina (Corey) Sessions, Nick (Michelle) Baumann, Jessica (Eric) Pergolski, Amanda (Steve) Zastrow, Amber (Charlie) Emerson, Sean (Nicole) Baumann, Katrina (Tim) Lownik, Chelsey, Linsey, Kayla and Kendra Baumann and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Lois Tetzlaff, Jerry Kittel, and Carol Oehlke, sister-in-laws Linda Kittel and Mona Michlig and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, their son Gordy and his wife Cheryl, and Marilyn’s siblings Beverly, Reggie and Tommy.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on January 29, 2022 at John J Buettgen Funeral Home, 948 Grand Ave Schofield, WI. Rev. Lori Slaughter will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from from 9:00am until the time of service.
