WISCONSIN RAPIDS – D.C. Everest won eight of the 11 races but Wisconsin Rapids’ depth propelled them to a 76-69 win in the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday at Lincoln High School.
David Mayer won the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.84) and the 100 breaststroke (1:07.12), and Keaton Barwick was first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.19) and the 500 freestyle (5:55.36) to earn double victories for D.C. Everest.
Adam Swedlund won the 200 individual medley in 2:35.87 and Benjamin Soehl was first in the 50 freestyle in 27.12 seconds as well for the Evergreens, who finish the WVC dual season 0-8.
Wisconsin Rapids will host the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet next Thursday, Feb. 3, at 5:30 p.m.
