WESTON – The D.C. Everest Area School Board will continue its selection process for the district’s superintendent position Feb. 9 with input from district stakeholders, including parents, teachers, support staff, administrators, students and the business/community through a community-wide survey.
The DCE School Board selected Casey Nye, DCE assistant superintendent of learning, and Jeff Lindell, DCE director of student services, as the DCE superintendent finalists, following the Nov. 18, 2021, announcement that longtime superintendent Kristine Gilmore will retire June 30.
The survey will ask respondents to rank a series of questions that could be addressed to the superintendent candidates during candidate Q&A sessions. Links to the survey will be emailed to students, families, district staff, and district business partners and the link will be available to community members at www.dce.k12.wi.us/superintendentselection.
Additionally, Mike Richie, from the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, will facilitate two public candidate Q&A sessions from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. March 3 at the D.C. Everest Middle School. The sessions will be livestreamed as well. Each candidate will have one hour to respond to 12 questions — based on survey results and with the guidance of HYA — that address the interests of six key stakeholder groups.
