A 19-year-old Stratford man is in custody Tuesday after allegedly threatening several people at gunpoint, authorities said.

Police responded at about 9:40 p.m. Monday to a home in the 800 block of East Harrison Street after a report that the man was pointing a gun and threatening to kill people inside.

From there, the suspect allegedly went to a second home in the 1300 block of North Peach Avenue and pointed a gun at a woman there, police said.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, left the Peach Avenue home before officers arrived. But on Tuesday morning at about 9 a.m., police located his vehicle – but the man allegedly refused to surrender and began to flee. Officers used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle, which crashed into a Marshfield squad car.

Police say the man knew the people he allegedly threatened and the incidents were not random. Recommended charges will be forwarded to prosecutors in both Marathon and Wood County.
