Two dogs died in a fire that destroyed three trailers near Stevens Point on Sunday, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies were called at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday to 1103 Third Ave. South in the town of Carson for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, deputies observed two camper trailers and a utility trailer engulfed in flames. The Rudolph Fire Department extinguished the blaze, which resulted in heavy fire damage to all three trailers. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined but it does not appear to be suspicious, police said. The Rudolph Fire Department is assisting the Portage County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
