The slate is set for Wausau’s spring election, with results from Tuesday’s primary narrowing candidates in several races including two city council districts

In Dist. 1, three candidates emerged after Pat Peckham announced he would not seek re-election. Two candidates, Carol Lukens and John Kroll, will advance. Lukens was the top vote-getter with 215 votes, followed by Kroll with 129 ballots cast. William Bublitz received 43 votes.

In Dist. 4, Tom Neal also announced he would step away, prompting four candidates to run for the seat. Doug Diny and Jesse Kearns were the top finishers on Tuesday, receiving 103 votes and 89 votes, respectively. Vada Perkins followed with 48 votes, while Kate Tracey received 47. Diny and Kearns will face off in April.

In Kronenwetter, eight candidates emerged to vie for three seats. That number has been narrowed to six. Top candidates were Danielle Bergmann, with 183 votes, Jason Holmes and Ken Charneski, with 178 votes apiece, Jordyn Wadle-Leff with 175 and Tami Bloch and Timothy J. Shaw, who each had 138 votes. The remaining two candidates, Sean Dumais and Jim Buck, will not advance to the spring election.
