Wausau Pilot & Review

WAUSAU – The Wausau West boys hockey team dominated Wausau East/Merrill from start to finish and earned a 12-0 win in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal Tuesday at the Marathon Park Ice Arena.

Connor Wendell and Spencer Cooper each had two goals for the No. 4 seed Wausau West, which improves to 14-9-2 this season and moves on to a regional final at home Thursday against No. 5 seed Stevens Point. The game will be at the Marathon Park Ice Arena starting at 7 p.m.

Jake Furrer had 72 saves in goal for East/Merrill, which finishes the season 3-22.
