Wausau Pilot & Review

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Wausau, with heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions expected Monday afternoon through Tuesday.

Snowfall predictions vary, but the latest models show accumulations of up to 6 inches for the area, with areas of blowing and drifting that could reduce visibility. Weather officials say the storm will be a “long duration event,” with lulls or breaks in precipitation expected at times.

The advisory, for Marathon and Shawano Counties, is in effect from 5 p.m. Monday until 9 p.m. Tuesday. Travel could be especially difficult and drivers are urged to use caution on the roadways.
