Wausau Pilot & Review

Wausau and Marathon County are under an ice warning beginning at midnight Friday, while much of central Wisconsin is bracing for difficult weekend road conditions.

The ice storm warning, issued by the National Weather Service, is in effect until noon on Saturday. Weather officials say slippery and ice-covered road conditions and intermittent power outages are possible. Travel is “strongly discouraged.”

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Weather officials are asking residents to prepare for power outages ahead of the storm.
