One person is dead after crashing his snowmobile and hitting a tree in Vilas County, officials say.
The crash was reported just after 12:30 p.m. in the town of Presque Isle. Officials say the driver strayed from a trail and rolled the machine. Lifesaving efforts were not successful and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wisconsin DNR is investigating the crash. The driver’s name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
