The members at the Wausau American Legion Post 10 acknowledged 100 Wausau area Veterans for their service and sacrifice for our country. Volunteer drivers delivered dinners cooked by Bunkers Restaurant to their homes on February 23, 2022.

The Post 10 “Veterans Helping Veterans “program was created to provide meals for veterans in need on the holidays.

Because of a special program called “I Bought a Local Veteran Dinner” at Bunkers Restaurant, the Chatterbox, the Domino Bar and American Family Insurance – Heather Bresnahan Agency and Andy & Amy Zientara the Post was able to add three more meal delivery dates. In addition to the February 23rd delivery the Post will add meal deliveries to the Veterans on March 16 and April 13th. Thank you to the generous patrons that supported our Veterans Dinner Program.

Post 10 is also partnering with the “Veterans Weekly Cup-of-Coffee” group that meets at Denny’s in Rothschild. The group is providing Denny’s meal cards in limited quantities to the veterans and their families with the meals from Bunkers. The meal cards are donated by Veterans that meet at Denny’s, community members and businesses. They also want to thank our Veterans for their service.

If you know of a Veteran that would like to have meals delivered, please contact the Post for details on their reservation line at 715-509-1010.
