Sharon A. Feathers
Sharon A. Feathers, age 81, of Ringle, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
She was born in Wausau on February 24, 1941, daughter of the late Merrill and Arlene (Seiler) Sischo. She grew up on the north side of Wausau in a small house on Horseshoe Spring Road next door to her Grandparents Merrill Sr. and Jennie (Johnson) Sischo. This was back in the days when kids spent most of the summer wandering barefoot and didn’t mind if there was a leech or two in the local swimmin’ hole. We have a black and white photo of Sharon and her brother Corky floating on a backwater of the Wisconsin river directly behind their house on a crude homemade raft they constructed of inner tubes and cast-off lumber. We suspect that photograph, and the huge grins on their faces in it, pretty much captures those childhood years.
Sharon enjoyed golfing in the summer and curling in the winter. And it was while curling in Stevens Point, WI that she met Gerald Feathers of Waupaca, WI, who she would marry on September 1, 1962.
She earned her Master’s degree in early childhood education, and loved working with young people as a Kindergarten teacher in the D.C. Everest School District at Riverside Elementary School, retiring in 1996.
Sharon greatly enjoyed traveling and, along with numerous bus trips and RV trips around the Midwest and out West, was able to visit places like Australia, Europe, and Alaska. Her travels included one week-long wilderness canoe trip- led by her fellow childhood raft-building conspirator brother Corky- into Ontario’s Wabakimi Wilderness area using Grumman canoes and 1970’s nylon dome tents with her husband and two sons. It was on this trip, because none was available for the entire week, that she discovered how much she really enjoyed ice in her drinking water.
She had a life-long love for art. She drew, painted, and photographed places and scenes throughout her life. She enjoyed sharing her art in numerous art shows and exhibitions around the area and cherished the friendships she made as an active member in local art associations.
After retiring from teaching, Sharon and her husband Jerry were able to spend 14 winters in Florida escaping the Wisconsin cold. She especially treasured her times walking the beach on Sanibel Island looking for shells. Certainly, this was one of her happiest places and she took many photographs and created numerous paintings representing sunsets along the ocean there.
During the summers she liked spending time at the cottage on Manson Lake near Rhinelander. She loved puttering around on the pontoon boat or sitting on the bench at the end of the dock looking for and listening to the calling of the loons. Particularly, she appreciated spending time on her special bench alongside the gurgling stream next to the cottage listening to the sounds of nature. As with Sanibel Island, this was a place that inspired many of her paintings and photographs.
One of the greatest joys of her life was the arrival her grandchildren Ryan Feathers in 1991 and Kendra Feathers in 1993. She loved spending time with them whether it was babysitting; or attending birthday parties, school concerts, or scouting events. With her health declining and her granddaughter Kendra pregnant with twins, one of her hopes was to be able to meet her great grandchildren. And on her 81st birthday- just two weeks before her passing- she was able to rest one-month old Walter and Leopold Gilberston in her lap and hold their tiny hands. She declared that visit as “The best birthday of my life”.
She was a nature lover and in later years, when traveling became too difficult, she loved sitting on the deck watching the birds coming to the various well-stocked feeders in the backyard. She was a fan of
Aldo Leopold’s Sand County Almanac and would pause to listen with delight to the migrating geese overhead in the spring. In one of her favorite chapters, “Goose Music”, Leopold wrote, “…And when the dawn-wind stirs through the ancient cottonwoods, and the gray light steals down from the hills over the river sliding softly past its wide brown sandbars- what if there be no more goose music?”
Survivors include her husband, “Jerry” Feathers of Ringle, son Tim (Renee) Feathers of Weston, grandson Ryan Feathers of Madison, granddaughter Kendra (Feathers) Gilberstson and her husband James of Rothschild, and great grandchildren Walter and Leopold Gilberstson.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Merrill “Corky” Sischo, her son John William Feathers, and two beloved dogs- Nugget and Monique.
In honoring Sharon’s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.

Beverly A. Murphy
Beverly Ann Guenther Boneck Murphy, 89, of Apache Junction, AZ, entered into the presence of her Savior on Thursday, March 10, 2022, after a long illness. She was born on October 15, 1932, in Rothschild, WI, along with her twin sister Marianne to Albert and Emily Guenther during the Great Depression. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, William Boneck, her parents, Albert and Emily Guenther, three brothers, Robert (Joyce), Donald (Betty), David (Gladys), and twin sister Marianne (Donald).
She is survived by her husband, Larry Murphy, two sons, Robert Boneck (Yung) of Goodyear, AZ, Steven Boneck (Mary) of Winneconne, WI, a foster son Norman Pospichal and his family, four grandchildren, Alisha Boneck and Zachary Boneck, of Boise, ID, Shelby Proshuto (Dustin) of Appleton, WI, and Trevor Boneck of Appleton, one great-grandson, Maverick Proshuto, and a sister, Faye Guenther Liddle (Gary) of Springfield, MO.
Beverly graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis. She moved to Tonapah, NV, as a bride when Bill was in the Air Force. She also lived in California and Wisconsin and retired in Apache Junction, AZ. Although small of stature, she is remembered as a giant in her Christian faith. She was active in churches where she lived and was a gifted teacher and leader of women ministries. Her hobbies included quilting, puzzles, reading, and playing piano and guitar. She and Larry sang together often at home and in various places as they traveled with their RV. She had a gift of hospitality. She was a homemaker, a practical nurse, and a property manager. She enjoyed visiting family and friends, especially her boys and their families.
A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at the Brainard Funeral Home, 5712 Memorial Ct. Weston, WI on Friday, March 18 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive guests from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Liddle will officiate. Private burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

James E. Baraboo
James Eugene Baraboo passed unexpectedly on March 2nd.
James was born on March 28th, 1958 to Eugene and Marjorie in Rice Lake.
A UW Stout graduate, James worked as a risk consultant.
He is survived by his children, Karna, David, John, and Linnea. His sisters, Julie Sorenson and Jeanie Bell. Niece Danielle Gierman (Jon), Nephew Luke Zinkowich. Great nieces and nephews Ari, Dresden, Kaius, and Renavae Gierman.

Carol H. Blaubach
Carol H. Blaubach, 88, Marathon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Rennes Health and Rehab in Weston, surrounded by family.
She was born October 3, 1933 in Marathon, daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Gresens) Braunel. On September 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ernest F. Blaubach at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marathon. He survives.
Carol farmed alongside her husband, Ernest, for many years. She was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Falls, where she was a past treasurer and past president for the Zion Ladies Aid.
Carol was an excellent baker and made many cakes for family weddings, anniversaries and confirmations. She was also a great seamstress and sewed many dresses for special occasions, including weddings. Spending time at the family cottage up north and fishing with her grandkids was a favorite pastime.
Carol also loved traveling the world with Ernest and spending the winter months in Arizona.
Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Ernest; two daughters, Nancy (Dan) Mueller of Marshfield and their children, Benjamin, Rachel, Jonathan and Elizabeth; and Suzanne (Gary) Neumann of Antigo and their children, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Kristina and Katee Jo; three sons, Larry Blaubach of Manitowoc and his children, Trina, Travis and Jamie; Steve (Debra) Blaubach of Tomahawk and their children, Nathan, Brittany and Marisa; and Mark (Faye) Blaubach of Wausau and their children, Adam and Justin; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Dawn Mae Burish and Jane Ross; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Traska and Lucille Shoepke; and three brothers, LeRoy, Merlyn and Duane Braunel.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Rita M. Norton
Rita Norton, 87, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born May 23, 1934 in Wausau, daughter of the late Carl and Lena Meilahn. On March 29, 1952, she married Harold Norton in Wausau before he was deployed to Alaska during the Korean Conflict. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2018.
On returning to Wausau, she was a full-time mom. Later, she worked as a cashier and sales for Tempo Department Store, Kwik Trip and Quality Foods, Rib Mountain.
Survivors include, daughters, Jaci Seliger and Sheree (Mark) Schaefer; son-in=law, Jim Drews (Terri Bryden); grandchildren, Sarah (Craig) Hutchinson, Stephen (Becky) Paul, Jake (April) Sonnentag, Gretchen Krueger (Jamie Packard) and Jenna (Josh) Winter; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Sullivan; daughter, Carla Drews; sons-in-law, Steve Paul and Bob Seliger; and brothers, Carlton and Ronald Meilahn.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Private entombment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

Rosemary A. Felch
Rosemary Ann (Trierweiler) Felch 93, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022 at Our House Senior Memory Care with family at her side.
Rosemary was born in Wausau, WI on November 7, 1928 to the late Harry J. and Verna (Brozzo) Trierweiler.
On September 5, 1950 she married Eugene L. Felch in Pine City, MN. Eugene preceded her in death on December 13, 1999. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and spending time with her sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Eugene enjoyed square dancing and after retirement camping and fishing at their trailer in Boulder Junction, WI.
She is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Clarence) Aho, Sebring FL and their daughters Vicki (Mike) Szpylman, Bristol WI and Melissa (Greg) Jones, Mequon, WI and her 6 grandchildren, Emily, Natalie and Audrey Szpylman and George, Charlie Rose and Arnette Jones. Her son Rodney Felch (Debbie), Montell, WI, and his step son Steve DuPuis and his daughters Reilly and Lexie. Brother in laws Eugene Fochs, Michael Nowak and sister in laws Nancy Wendorf, Norma Neslon, special niece Debbie Wendorf and many other nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents she was precede in death by her step-mother Veronica (Nelson) Trierweiler, daughter in-law Patricia Felch, brothers Harry (Ruth) Trierweiler, Oliver (Ruth) Trierweiler, Douglas Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Gordon Nelson, and sisters Catherine (Arthur) Roeske, Margaret Fochs, Shirley (Eugene) Shcedler, and Marlene Nowak, and her in-laws Arthur and Lois Felch.
The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Memory Care of Wausau and St Croix Hospice for their care of Rosemary.

Betty J. Wimmer
Betty J. Wimmer, 94, died March 15, 2022 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born February 10, 1928 in Fond Du Lac, WI to the late Rena F. Fries. She attended schools in Appleton and married Leroy H. “Bud” Schultz on February 24, 1949 in Appleton. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1970. She married Rupert G. Wimmer on July 7, 1973 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Wausau and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1998.
Betty was a charter member of the disabled American Veteran’s Auxiliary in Wausau. She was state commander of the disabled American Veteran’s from 1946-1977 and worked and held offices at the national level and was elected the National Commander of the DAVA from 1985-1986. She was also a member of the Purple Heart Auxiliary and the American Legion. Betty loved and respected all veterans knowing of their sacrifices and she held a knowledge of all the benefits they deserved. Betty and her late husband Rupert were well known and loved throughout the community of veterans especially disabled vets and their families.
Betty had a huge love of animals especially her cats she had through the years and her current fur grand babies Jake and Beau.
Survivors include her son, Craig (Kelley) Schultz, Wausau.
As per Betty’s wishes, no services will be held.

William Lowery
William ‘Gary’ Lowery, 82, of Wittenberg, died on Monday, March 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Gary was born on April 10, 1939 in New Jersey, the son of Roy and Juanita (Strange) Lowery.
On June 26, 1965, Gary was united in marriage to Beverly Bembenek at Holy Family Catholic Church, Wittenberg.
Gary was a self employed dental technician for many years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Gary enjoyed playing poker with friends and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Most importantly, Gary enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Tracy (Thomas) Williamson and Trisha (Michael) Monk; and six grandchildren, Paige (Dan) Merriman, Abby Williamson, Bryce Williamson, Adelynn Monk, Ellamae Monk and Leo Monk.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3PM on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Holy Family-St. William Catholic Church, Wittenberg. Fr. Matthew Settle will preside.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4PM to 7PM at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg and again on Saturday from 2PM until the time of Mass at the church.
