Fate of Lincoln Hills youth prison still in limbo

The Wisconsin Examiner reports on the reform progress at Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake youth prisons, noting that 43 of 50 court-mandated changes have been completed. While approaches to handling incidents and terminology have changed to be more humane, challenges like understaffing, learning difficulties, and the future closure of the facilities remain under discussion among state lawmakers. Further improvement and investment in alternative facilities are expected, with legal and public safety considerations at the forefront.
