WAUSAU – Anyone who might have patronized M & R Station in Wausau on July 9, 10 and/or 12 is being asked to quarantine and monitor him or herself for COVID-19 symptoms for 14 days after a person there tested positive for the virus.
Anyone who visited the business between 9 p.m. and 1:45 a.m. on those days should monitor for symptoms for 14 days from their last visit to the business, the Marathon County Health Department said today in a news release.
Common COVID-19 symptoms include fever or chills, cough and shortness of breath. If symptoms do develop, contact your health care provider for testing.
“The community’s health and safety is our number one priority,” said Joan Theurer, Marathon County health officer, in a news release. “We are releasing this information due to the inability to identify all possible contacts who may have been exposed to this positive case.”
The Marathon County Health Department will not provide further information on the identity of the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 to ensure the privacy of the individual.
M & R Station said it is working to reopen its business, at 818 S. Third Ave., on July 21.
“In an effort to protect our staff and patrons, we followed the guidelines for businesses found on the Marathon County Health Department website for cleaning and disinfecting the business,” Rick Gordon, owner of M & R Station, said in the Marathon County Health Department news release.
The health department continues to encourage everyone to practice social distancing, wear a face covering when in public and unable to social distance, avoid large gatherings and stay home if you are feeling sick or were in contact of someone who has been sick.
