Waypoint Spine, a new independent orthopedic practice specializing in spinal care, is opening offices in Rib Mountain and Stevens Point.

Surgeons Todd Fairchild, M.D. and Jason Potocki, M.D. are both board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeons with more than 20 years of combined experience, most recently spent serving patients throughout north central Wisconsin.  Office locations will be at 520 Vincent St. in Stevens Point and 3301 Rib Mountain Drive in Rib Mountain.

“Our shared vision is to establish a practice that is conservative, easily accessible and dedicated entirely to the care of spinal disorders,” Fairchild said in a news release. “We strongly believe that spine surgery should be performed only when conservative treatment is no longer an option. At Waypoint Spine, patients can expect a thorough diagnostic evaluation and appropriate conservative care, including spine-specific physical therapy. When surgery is recommended, we have privileges at several regional hospitals and surgery centers, allowing patients a choice of operative facilities.”

Fairchild earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from Yale. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Iowa, followed by a fellowship at the Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis.

Potocki earned his medical degree and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his spine surgery fellowship at the Norton Leatherman Spine Institute in Louisville, Kentucky.

Waypoint Spine in Stevens Point opened Sept 5. The Rib Mountain location will open in mid-October. Both the Stevens Point and Rib Mountain locations will offer onsite X-ray, MRI and physical therapy services.
