UPDATE – One person is in custody in Marshfield and a lockdown at a local high school has been cleared.

Marshfield Police say there was no danger to any students and called the lockdown a precaution.

No additional details have been released.


Students at Marshfield Senior High School are on lockdown as of early Friday afternoon, WausauPilot and Review has confirmed.

In a Facebook post, Marshfield Police Department at about 1:45 p.m. stated that the lockdown is related to a search for an armed person who is believed to be in crisis. The subject of the search is not at the school.

No specific threat to the school has been made, police said. The school lockdown is being characterized as a precaution.
